I stop playing Zelda simply because there is no way NOT to use the thing. I mean, it's cool for the first couple of hours of playing, but I have no desire to hold the controller up and play for a few hours straight (not uncommon for RPG). I like the DS rules better - you can use either the traditional control or pen - not just the pen.

I cannot think of too many Haruhi theme game that I want to play a lot with the Wii remote, unless it's one of those party-theme like game, which certainly shouldn't require you to hold the damn remote up for hours at a time
This is not true. Resident Evil 4 Wii allows you to use the Classic Controller add-on (looks a bit like a white version of the PS2 controller) or the GameCube controller, and will revert to the standard RE4 controls. Fire Emblem: Goddess of Dawn (a Wii exclusive turn-based strategy game published by Nintendo) uses no motion controls at all; while you can control the game with the Wii Remote held sideways, no motion detection is used and the Classic Controller or the GameCube controller are preferable.

That's news to me - you don't know how piss I am when they force me to use the damn Wii remote for Zelda. Yes, it will open up some new ways to play games, but sadly, I see the Wii version of the game will mostly focus on various mini-games, since Wii excel at this (just imagine playing as Kyon "playing" these various mini-games to do Haruhi's bidding - Cooking Mama, Kyon's edition ). Need more detail on the PS2 version - definitely getting that one if it's half way decent.

I think a Wii game would be damn freaky.... Just my opinionated opinion.
I mean, really...... lot's of 'moving about'... whatever.

Psst...that WTF means H-game, if the screenshots are anything to go by. So uh, be warned or something. >_>

And with the new scan on the Haruhi PS2 game, I wonder how interactive the RPG elements will be. I'm really curious now seeing the 8-bit Haruhi in the lower-right corner - Haruhi RPGs throughout the generations? (also would make a good sprite rip for fangames )

The limited edition of the PS2 game will get that, "Super Hero Haruhi" figure with 4 sets of changeable arms. Pre-orders will get this "Dance SOS Brigade" CD featuring concept art, game trailers and the TV Anime "HareHare Yukai" dance but with the gang in their RPG clothing from this game.

I can see the video popping up on Youtube already.

And it seems the PSP game will be about making a movie for the school culture festival, not just mini games. Each character also has their own ending as you would expect in an ADV.

Spoke to someone at Himeya last night. They added both the limited and the regular editions to their site.

You can probably pre-order it eventually at Yesasia or Play-Asia too but, they don't do pre-order goodies.

Could also check NCSX.com later because they usually ship bonus goods and tell you about it.

Spoke to NCSX also, they said it's too early to accept pre-orders for a Jan 2008 game.

Haruhi's eyes chase you

In the flash application on this page, Haruhi's eyes chase the cursor of your mouse:
http://b.bngi-channel.jp/psp-haruhi/sos_pop01.html

This is the demonstration of the "Motion Portlait" technology.
They say that the technology will be intorduced in the conversation system in the PSP game
"Suzumiya Haruhi no Yakusoku": http://b.bngi-channel.jp/psp-haruhi/

The explanation of the technology was found on this page:
http://www.motionportrait.com/about/

According to the avobe page, Motion Portlait was consist of three key features:
1.3D model is generated from a single 2D image automatically.
2.Engine draw real-time image of portlait responding to input from the user.
3.Engine has also the capabilities of drawing emotions of the character.
