But then again the moment was short. -------------------- Also really? We are still arguing how a character is bad because she is not beautiful? Really? That's the crux of the issue?!? IMO, she is meant to be a bit homely. Not to be Anime pretty or beautiful. She is just some nerd, and she looks it. And her looks are perfectly fine. She is average looking to me. Her actual draw fro Soya is that she is there for him and understands him. Although I would agree that she probably got the least amount of development compared to her amount of screentime. She is kinda just there to be THE GIRL, and unfortunately isn't let be much more than that in most of the episodes.

Well....if you're self-inserting into the title which the makers want, that means that your preferences are also affected by the MCs. Nozomi is okay, but she wasn't developed enough to compensate for people who are into "girls with glasses". Ginko got more development, looks better after time skip, and is in a maid outfit. Maids are better imo.

Yo, it's over~
Great anime. Especially the later half after entering the subspace was epic. I'm so glad the end didn't show Soya and Nozo happily ever after Should totally just went Ginko route Desperately giving Nozo achievements, to the point of disregarding the entire telepath squads (Just kept zooming to her face) Giving her random Deus Ex Machina power of remote dimensional tracking to locate Soya So obnoxious Writing her off the script would make this anime whole lot better

This was one of the strangest, most ambiguous, and creative show I've seen this year. It's a hell of an experience that got me confused in the beginning but the more I watched, the more I went with the flow and enjoyed it.
Kinda wish there was more of an aftermath though as the very final scenes felt a bit lackluster. Other than that, I hope more of Mizukami's works gets adapted in the future (this technically isn't an adaptatation as it's an original show)

That was really, really good (loved the scene with Ginko and Soya respectively thanking and forgiving the dragon), but the lack of epilogue hurts. I'm very disappointed there wasn't any. One may argue everything after the timeskip was the epilogue, but I wanted more.
Still a really strong show overall, one of the best this season. The finale didn't change my mind about this being Mizukami's weakest main work, if anything, it cemented it. Still happy I got to enjoy a brand new story by him. Here's hoping this is just the beginning and we'll get more Mizukami anime, adaptations or originals!

Brilliant show, started watching for the maid and the weird cat thing, kept watching for the story an the action. Put more into twelve episodes than some shows put into 24, but never with a feeling that it was being rushed or things were being cut, the show just had no fat, all lean.
Never heard of Mizukami before this show, but I'm getting into his manga now. Can we have Spirit Circle next, please? |

While I'm not entirely sure the ending with the dragon landed 100% right, this was still a great ride. And I'll definitely be there to lap up anything Mr Writter-san makes in Anime-land, if he ever gets another chance.
I want to again be taken on Mizukami's wild ride

That would be a great pick to get animated, or maybe it would be best to have an other work being animated first, since spirit circle is so good anything coming after would hardly stand the comparison.
It's still to see though, how Planet With was received in Japan, before talking about any other adaptation. Anyone has news or stats? |

Hard to believe that they could cram so much story into 12 episodes, but in the end they did it. This was definitely one of the most ambitious and strangest anime I have seen this year. Overall one of the best shows of this season. I'm also disappointed by the lack of an epilogue though.
