it was pretty Entertaining but the manga balances out the fanservice and story. frankly i was hoping for a close anime adaption.. 3 episodes in I doubt it will be anymore than fanservice..but its only 3eps.. plenty of hope.

Personally, I'd like it if the animation team took a few liberties with the original material. I found the manga grew a bit disappointing over time, mainly because character balance was lost quite a bit, and the balance between story and fanservice is lost as well.

The animation team has already opted to not go by the manga's order of events, so maybe they'll try other things. The concept of Manyuu Hikenchou is ridiculous but interesting; there's room to have some fun with the concept and still be an enjoyable anime.

whats really upsetting is that they've apparently taken all the biggest fanservice chapters and put them in th anime only. they skipped a lot of good story parts...

Just watched episode 4. It was pretty fun to see someone in this obsessed world who not only didn't care about breasts, but found them a nuisance.

Yes, mildly. R-15 has more censors and is more explicit than this show. At heart, we have a tale of adventure here. But if I keep soapboxing, I'll never get to the actual episode. A beach episode, in a sense. This episode also proves that, even in a world where large breasts are everything, there are some scenarios where a more slender chest has its advantages, such as swimming. Kaede and Izumi are much more hydrodynamic, and Mizuki became that way too. Since it was done to free her from a perverted octopus, this is the first breast stealing done not to an adversary, but to a friend. Chifusa just keeps getting bigger...(and I don't mind.) There were some other good gags too, such as Kaede's anachronistic yellow card, and the waves washing over the lord as he gives a dramatic speech. Always check the weather before speeching. This is a lesson I and many others can serve to learn. Go forth, Kaede! Go forth, Chifusa! 膨乳は浮標!

Or arousal, for that matter, but I'm trying to remain somewhat tactful here. Breasts are still at the front and center (divided by two) of this show. It's the basis of society, and Chifusa's character design ensures that a large pair is never far away. Yet, I find myself as attracted to world building as much as chest building. I never knew there were so many permutations of the way breasts could be explored. After festivals and octopi and battles, this was the lowest key episode of the series, mostly dealing with domestic problems (and Jawas, who were related to the domestic problems). Those kids just wanted some warmth. Not that they expressed it as "warmth", but it's the thought that counts. Chifusa had the Akari eyes when all that was done. And her and Kaede's expressions continue to be hilarious, and Chifusa herself is finding out that in a society based around large breasts, there should be a limit on largeness before it interferes with your everyday life. Chifusa's flashbacks (and this episode as a whole) were actually kind of heartwarming. It makes sense. The heart is where the breasts are. 胸 can mean both 乳 and 心. (Fun fact: This was the resolution of an eroge that... that's not really related to the topic, is it?) All this walking the earth has been pretty fun, but it's time for it to come to an end. Kagefusa is lurking in the background, ready to strike. 膨乳と母乳は母の愛!

Of course, when it comes to breasts, balance is an essential thing in this show, but it's turning out to be one of my favorites for reasons I had not wholly intended. Chifusa balances between being dedicated to her mission and reacting with sarcasm and confusion to the world she inhabits. Kaede balances between her desires towards Chifusa and her own desires. Comedy and action. Actual bare breasts and things that just remind you of them. Jidai geki and breasts. Neither element overpowers the other. But there is such a thing as "too much", and Chifusa's chest started to reach cartoony levels this week. And yet, it's still not as big as Tomo, but it needs to be toned down a little bit before I find it arousing. (Not that I'm trying to. I respect Chifusa as a samurai above all else.) Her "training" at the temple was so fitting with the world, and so ludicrous, that the final punchline was great. Kagefusa returned too. It figures in a world of boobs, breast pads would exist and people would use them. Kagefusa seemed to have a bit of a redemption here, but she's still going to need a bit more screentime before I can call her a good guy. Chifusa being haunted by memories of her mother was also interesting. A little on the Freudian side. Keep it coming! 膨乳は．．．ない？！
