After seeing the subbed episode 720p quality, I must say the animation is a bit better than in the last season
As for the episode itself, it's a great start of the season. Looking forward to the next episode.

Rondo Night I. The Sinners of Fate ~Guilty~
It felt like yesterday when I watched to the end the last episode of Vampire Night and just three months later watched the first episode to the second season.
This year has seen the comeback of sequels at short-term. What Vampire Knight left ambiguously unanswered, Guilty will disclose and yet raise many more mysteries. The main issue of conflict right now is that both the Supreme Vampire Council and Vampire Hunter's Association are openly interfering. Spoiler:
Guilty stands for regret over past actions committed in the previous season. Spoiler:
Overall, this season pays even greater detail and animation to the eyes so full of life conveying sorrow and deception. And if you ask me, I like more season one's opening and ending theme songs over the current season's OP and ED songs. |

I liked season 1's OP and ED better. I feel episode one's story was poorly written, like the events weren't strung together very well. It felt like they just threw a bunch of events together so it'd fit the 24 minute time slot and called it a day.

Just watched the ep. Not a very good start imo, I read the manga, but my guess is that someone who first sees this wouldn't be really attracted to it. It was a mix of a review of the first season, with an intent of introducing the new arc, but they failed to do it, since it was already stated just at the finished of S1, and here they still don't introduce anything new.
I pity Yuuki, those eyes are... too big |

Having watched this a second time, with the subs, I am even more enthusiastic. I thought ep1 was extremely well done. Mamo-chan was excellent, better than I remember from season one. The scenes between him and Yuki (Horie Yui) worked extremely well. And so did the scenes between him and Kaname (Kishio Daisuke). The night class seemed more vivid to me this time around. And the little scene between Yuki and her roommate was good.

It was pretty much what one expects from Vampire Knight: lots of angst and an intriguing mystery plot which still has way more questions than answers. How about this for a piece of imagery, though:
Butterfly wings made out of blood and an ominous spider figure in the corner. A bit extravagant, isn't it.

Finally caught the 1st episode not to bad some changes from the manga and some real changes in dialog not that i minded though. Animation was nice same as last season didnt see too much that was different. The manga is still on going so it will interesting to see how the anime plays out. Zero continues to be my favorite male character his angst and torment is really touching you really feel it with the guy. Not to mention What Kaname said to him about protecting Yuki that would have pissed me off.
I love the ending song its nice and creepy again. The violin at the beginning really sucks you in and is very suitable for the ending. Then there is Yuki with the bloody butterfly wings behind her very nice indeed. Once again the OP and ED give away hints to the real story and i think i might have spotted all of them already. But i want to watch the ED one more time to be sure. Yuki with the bloody Butterfly wings is a big hint.
