Internet rage storms targeting individual people seem kind of like a modern version of stoning to me. Even when the accusation is true I often don't feel like its bad enough that the target deserves to get singled out and hated on by a mob of people who know barely know anything about them. Definitely something I think society could do with less of.

Well, what can I say...
Spoiler for Episode 8 spoilers:
It's almost impossible to predict how things will be going on. https://www.sunday-webry.com/events/...d/interview08/ This episode comments: - Hiroe touched upon the concept of secondary characters born out of an estabilished franchise, citing Vocaloid as an example (think Black Rock Shooter as the most prominent example), wondering if characters born like that really need a writer anymore. This was one of the concepts that ended up in the creation of Altair; - Aside his military interests that shaped how Altair looks, he purposedly added chuunibyo-like features to her; - They mention that in this episode certain creators aren't really kind to their characters, while pointing out Meteora is kind to Sota. Hiroe adds that, jokingly referring to his works, that "the world is not kind to anyone!"; - They talk about Alice again and her stubborn sense of justice, born out of the will to save her world, which is been invaded by another race, noting also her relationship with Mamika; - Hiroe tries to say something more about Mamika but he's shut off by his editor (jokingly). Mamika-a-a!
Well, at least she went out in style (assuming she's dead). How much did Souta actually tell her then? Seems like quite a lot. What will he think when he finds out Mamika is dead (assuming she is)? This series isn't kind to "creators", that's for sure. |

NOOOOO!,
Spoiler:
Episode felt kind of slow until that ^ happend. I was wondering why Altair even need allies, surely she could destroy the world just by leaving the creations rooming free by their own, like chikujouin. |

Damn....
I guess Mamika is going to be the first causality in this show. (unless she somehow survived that attack at the end) The death flag on her was already hinted when she and Alice were talking tbh. Seems that Alice's ideals about the present world they are in differ from hers. Anyway, I also find the interactions between Sota/Meteora and Sota/Magane to be rather interesting this week.

I really like this series so far. Almost all the characters appeared to contribute to the stories and interact with each other like how we would normally would. The moment where they tell Mirokujin to not damage his creator head and right hand made me laugh. Talk about preserving a creator career. The growth of the Mamika also a welcome one. Although she still retains the ideas of a fluffy magical girl, she sure has the decisiveness to act on her idea. On the other hand, I wonder why the series still wasted precious screen time on Souta. I hate his type with a passion and utterly laughing when Magane interrogate him. If only he got a heart attack and dies there and then. While I hope Mamika makes it out alive, her death will most likely further torturous Souta mind which at this point, he totally deserves everything that goes at him, including a date with a psychopath murderous girl.

It seems like some people guesses were right. Mamika has a huge death flag over her head.
On Sota and Meteora's talk, it seems like the story tell about Setsuna and Sota. But I wonder who's the talented person and the one who acted cold to his friend? Also, on Mamika and Altair's talk. It seems Altair is telling that Setsuna is her Ally. Does that mean just an ally and not her creator? Hmm... Dammit. I'm trying to hold on till this series nearly or fully completed but because my curiosity on who exactly is Altair's real creator. Sigh.

The most important takeaway from this episode is the hint that Souta may have pushed Setsuna to suicide, out of jealousy at her talent and skills. Perhaps he even started the flames of hate that destroyed Setsuna's will to live.
Souta's reluctant wimpiness makes even more sense now, especially if he feels he has Setsuna's (figurative) blood on his hands, like Macbeth. Plus that Altair intends to get revenge on the real world for spurning Setsuna, and that Mamika (and Magane) presumably know Souta's full story now. Quote:

It's honestly the most logical choice a normal human in the real world would have do when in the situation. Matsubara even lampshaded this in earlier episode, 'characters' are exaggeration of notmal trait. An anime character may have been suddenly gone hot blooded but a real person wouldn't be like that. Especially considering his circumstance and guilt relating to Setsuna's death. It honestly baffled me that people expecting a kid with some level of mental trauma to act like they would do. |
