He pretty much said he doesn't understand that much of what things are, but he was touched by the fact despite what happened, she STILLED asked him. That's part of Togame that Shichika was attracted to (maybe looks too but he's only seen 2 women so <__<).

See this is exactly the reason why I said there needs to be a spoiler discussion page, but oh wellz. Anyway, I was going went through the posts in lightnovel.cn and yea Nisio definitely did his thing at the end of the series.

Alotta talking this episode, but it was a good way to set up the rest of the series. I like the characters, though I feel the sister should have atleast gone to the mainland with them. Hopefully she will appear down the road in the story, it feels like that anyway, The leads are interesting, even the idiot brother is alright, despite not understanding the emotional weight of anything he is saying. Its understandable and suits him.

The female lead might be a good one though, she is very likable.

Now to wait forever for the next episode.

Pretty much what I though about this episode.

I also hope Nanami shows up again in future episodes.

Yeah i'm hoping that. I rather adore her character designs (not as much as Togame's though), and it would be a complete waste to not see her appear again in future episodes.

That's good to hear, definitely looking forward to the next episode. The character designs almost kept me from checking this out, but I'm glad I watched it - good dialogue, interesting characters, and the art style grew on me after a while too.

Bake had surprisingly very, very little merchandise (outside of DVDs). Only one I remember are those nendoroids.

The biggest problem I had with Bakemonogatari (I only watched up to ep 3) and this first episode's dialogue is that it almost seems ..unnatural. It doesn't resemble real conversation I would have with my friends or even my enemies in real life. This might be due to the Seiyu's portrayals though. Somehow or another the talking just seems weird in this first episode.

Oh well, I love the animation. So pretty.

That's what all cocky villains that underestimate the good guys do right? Talk a whole bunch, show off their looks/e-peensmuscles/awesome weapons. Then taunt a whole bunch after beating the guy down the first time. Except here, they would've kept fighting if Togame didn't butt in. If Togame didn't butt in, the 1st sword would've been broken, and the story ends.
