I came across this one site that there were specials in seasons 2 and 3

Season 2: the year-end special
Season 3: 2 specials

can some possibly fill me in on what these where about?

I think I saw the first one - that's the one about the "Ocean's Navel", right? I thought it was boring, boring, boring.

The second TV special was pretty bad, it was a bout a guy with some sort of mind control power and also contained gratitous amounts of annoying children. It aired after episode 149.

The third special also called the "winter" special was about an old marine who put on a play relating his expereinces defending a town from a really bad pirate. There were no annoying children, and the special was considerably better than the others. It aired after episode 174.

Both specials are contained on the same dvd in Japan, which caused some confusion about their air dates, but neither were double episodes, they episodes are not related, and they never aired together at any point.

And to add on they have nothing to do with the main storyline.
