Just curious who this guy was? I saw an Epitaph to him at the beginning of Episode 79. Just wondering what connection he had to One Piece.

Did a search and it seem he was a japs voice actor but it didn't say if it was a the voice of anyone in OP but was in Gundam and Escaflowne

He was the person who did the voice for Smoker. Thats why there was a pic of him there. He died shortly before the episode was to air.

Well, when you click the torrent link from animesuki, doesn't it direct you to KF's main page? Since, if it does, you should read the updates, it had it all explained in there. I also much preferred smokers old voice, it suited him a lot better.

Holy... I liked dude voice too. I just check the voice and it's different from eps in lugue town to eps 111. It's not as deep as the original Smoker. R.I.P.

Unfortanely, Matsuo-sama passed away just before this episode aired in Japan.

Drat. I hate when actors, voice or otherwise, die, especially in the middle of production of a film or movie or show. RIP great deep voiced one. May you rattle the halls wherever you fare.

yea... matrix 2 was delayed 4 yrs becuase the actress died in the middle of the production. Luckliy for the producers, she never came out before. Harry potter on the other hand... that old man died. Dumbledore i think, yup hes dead.

Yup, died shortly after they released the 2nd movie. Sucks too cause he made the most awesome dumbledore. Good thing though is it looks like the new dumbledore is going to be perty good. Nowhere near what the old one was, but he's none too shabby himself.

back when IY was airing, he was voicing kagome's grandfather. he died in the middle of that, and they had a message when the episode aired.
