If you enjoyed Shakugan no Shana, try Fate/Stay Night, it should be up your alley. It also happens to be one my favorites from the list you present.
Other than that, I'd advice you not to miss Clannad and Chobits for romance in fantasy land, and Ghost Hunt for a very enjoyable horror/mystery. Soul Eater is currently airing (8 episodes thus far), so you might want to save that for last. It's been really good so far, you might go insane waiting for the next episode, like I do. To be fair, the only anime I haven't seen on your list in Lovely Complex, and I'll vouch for any of the other titles on that list any day of the week. You really can't go wrong no matter what you pick. |

Clannad - while not as good at drama and characterisation as Kanon 2006, it's much more comedic and fun. Hantsuki - a short, (bitter)sweet romance. Full Metal Panic/Code Geass - they're mildly similar, but the former is more of a romantic comedy, and the latter is more of a genius anti-hero type thing. Fate/Stay Night - pretty similar to Shakugan no Shana, except more GAR, and less moe. I've seen neither Ghost Hunt nor LoveCom, and haven't seen enough of Chobits to comment (though I don't think I'll ever get around to completing it, if it means anything to you.) Of course, these are all good, so watch them all! |

Ghost Hunt is one of the best mistery and character driven series I've ever seen. By the same author that made Juuni kokki (twelve kingdoms), the series is NOT supposed to be a horror show, and as such you should not watch it with that mindframe. It is overall mistery, with a strong character interaction and development directive that makes the plot flow better.

Yeah, I suppose horror is not the right word to describe Ghost Hunt. It's not supposed to be scary all the time, but I thought the "Blood-stained Labyrinth" arc was pretty scary personally. The characters are great, and I agree that if you approach it without expecting to be constantly scared, you'll probably have a great time.
I also cannot believe I didn't notice Code Geass on your list, watch that too! |
