There isn't a lot happening presently that I am aware of.

However the projects were rewritting the Haruhi Light Novels using an entirely Genderbent cast. I don't recall how far this project got, but many of the novels were redone...probably all the ones that have episodes of them already made.

There were several side projects, crossovers, and the like.

There was a major Visual Novel project going on, though I don't recall how far in it went, nor do I remember if the plot was finished. I do know that it needed artwork done for it.

Artwork?

Sounds fun, if you want give me a sitrep on what kinda stuff you need and I can try work something up. I'm not great, but practice makes perfect and all that.

Are the tides turning? Are we finally going to have enough artists to do this? Find out next time!

Anyways... IIRC, the plot and coding are basically done. We just need artists for just about everything.

Kaisos Erranon is the one that was in charge of the Visual Novel last I checked.

This is the most up-to-date archive that I know of for the VN.

EDIT: There's also an archive of all the other stuff people have made here, including the Volume 1 rewrite, fanfics, and a few other projects that are in various states of completion.

EDIT #2: I have had a revelation!

Ah, just realised. Do we have any standardisation we should be adhering to?

Came up with something on a whim, but not sure if it's the kind of thing you can use..

Spoiler for pic:

Spoiler for heh.:

.....edit: oh I screwed up. Not flat enough. orz

Only some of the artists have her as totally flat. Others and some fans suggested she's not totally flat but more in the low B cup range. Cause Kyonko doesn't need to be AA to be a status symbol. She's already chosen by the local universe's "god", attracted the attentions of a giant alien, and being followed by a time travelling trap, I mean shota.

Plus there is the meta God Empress that takes a liking to her as well. Haruhi's Will and all that. Plus her effect on the "goddess" Nagato.

Was browsing reference pics and came across this..

Do I need a reason to be wary of even the slightest laxity?

Well there is standard deviations on a theme and then there is somewhat rediculous.

Standard interpritation is that Kyonko would definately not be any larger than Haruhi (as that would likely piss her off), and certainly would never be as large as Mikuru. The usual is going for Yuki's size or slightly larger. Though i've never considered Yuki to be flat.

Itsuko might be as large as Mikuru (some suggest slightly larger, but also on a taller body than tiny Mikuru's).

Um.. alright, now I'm totally lost..

Do you have a visual example of the kind of standard you mean? Or a definitive size?

......wow can't believe I'm talking about this so easily.

Every artist has their own interpretation of Kyonko, ranging from the delicious flat chest to massive double Ds.

Our's generally sticks with her figure being based off of Yuki's, so I'd say you hit it right on the head. Or chest. Whichever.

Checking out the Genderbending Image Thread would be one way to get an estimate or average to how the characters are generally seen. Another would be danbooru and using "kyonko" as a search. But you'll get all sorts of ranges. At which would it is up to you to see what you think she should be like.

Though as mentioned, the general opition is that Kyonko is based on Yuki's figure (as oppose to just being a Shana-clone).

Just out of curiosity, how long did it take for you to do those?

I finished the entire prologue, which turned out to be a giant chunk of text more than I bargained for. I think it's still worth reading if anyone's interested.

Honestly if we can just produce that alone, I'd be happy.

As for the person drawing sprite art, the best thing we ever had to an established standard was this (unfinished) height chart, done by a previous artist who, uh, disappeared.

Spoiler for in a spoiler because I cannot thumbnail images due to clinical retardation:

And hell because I think it's the best thing he ever drew I'll (re)post this too, for old time's sake.

Spoiler for so goddamn moe:

We did get the coding done right? I vaguely remember an affirmative response to the same question, but I'm willing to look over the source code to make sure insidious bugs won't be a problem.

Quite a few of the images in that link are broken. Did you guys ever get any complete CGs/sprites/whatever?

Usually about 1-2 hours for lineart. Ditto for colouring. Varying stuff like expressions/clothes shouldn't take more than 10-20 min. Backgrounds are something else entirely. I'm only here as an excuse to draw cute girls anyway.

We finished something. I don't know what. At this point I'd like to look it over and then reboot.

Sure didn't. Which is why we've been dead for the past few years.

Well in that case...

Oh come on, you didn't expect me to do everything did you? <3

Anyway seriously, the art directions page was pretty confusing and not terribly informative in the end. If someone wants to provide a simpler descriptive list of CGs proper, possibly backgrounds, sprite poses etc required then I can get some stuff done. Probably focusing on the prologue.

Edit: to clarify- I'm confident in my girls and possibly girly guys but I'm proud of the fact that I have only digitally drawn an actual guy once *ever*. And he was pretty girly. On second thoughts I'm not sure if that's actually something to be terribly proud of but what the heck.

What he means is "would you be interested in helping us out?" We DO have lots of cute girls.

Edit: That was quick. Well then, we can probably put something together for you. Give us a few days.
