You think so? I guess I may take characters too often at face value, but I still think Miyako's simpler than that. Generally speaking, anyway.
I know with characters like her, we're usually inclined to think "they're a lot smarter than they're letting on...", but when it comes to Miyako, I dunnooo. . .

Lol.
Yeah, I kinda feel like one might be reading into it too much. But that doesn't really take away from her character.

It's just like the first volume of the manga.

Well, it IS categorized as T (teen). Although the violence tag might be a little off...

Episode 4 of Hidamari Sketch X365 and all I gotta say is that Miyako's short story about the cat was really heartwarming. Although Hiro sure is superstitious about abnormal sounds during the night.

So thats how Yuno got her inspiration for the art display...and its also thanks to Sae's Yuri influence.

If you ask me, I think Miyako's the genius of the group. Her art is pretty spontaneous and it doesn't take much effort for her to be inspired can come out with crazy images. I think that comes as a bonus from her capricious mind that's somehow disciplined enough to take the chaos and put that image onto the canvas. It's inspiring to say the least.

Given where the art movement has been since the mid-20th century, I think Miyako's an excellent fit and her genius would be recognized if she ever gets around to explaining what she's drawing.

Can anyone point me to a good Episode 5 summary? Seems like the sub is late in coming (life happens, I know...), and I'd like to at least know what's going on.

TIA!

Episode 5 subbed was released tonight, just got done watching. Miya totally stole the show with her enka. Seeing the girls as Yoshinoya's backup chorus was also greatly entertaining.

I found myself able to relate to several different parts of the conversation from both Sae and Chika, and the ending scene with both of them was very sweet. Liked the preview too. Yoshinoya-Principal interactions are always fun.

It makes Chika all the more special when she has special guest appearances like this, compared to if she was in the show a lot more.

Saying that, episode 05 was an absolute charm to watch. I lost count at the amount of time's i aww'd at Chika. She's just an adorable little button.

Ep 5

Wow...Miyako singing...that was the highlight for me XD
But I absolutely loved this ep as much as the others. Yoshinoya sensei again makes me laugh every time.

Chika's guest appearence and having the episode "revolve" around her held quite a nice mix of sentiments
