Yeah, it is about to end.
But the development is so unsatisfying as things just boiled down to "just as planned" for Amaterasu.

I know the final chapter will be published in January but I'm not sure if there will be a chapter for December.

Honestly, I don't see the drama in this ending considering how most of this manga involves death. Hiyori's dilemma was that she fell in love with Yato but because of their different nature it will be impossible to form a relationship. If she stays as a spirit like Yukine did, she still gets her happy ending.

It's not the ending, but that the manga overstayed its welcome years ago.

The Yukine part was fine but in general the whole war took way too long and accomplished too little. Hiyori was mostly absent until now too.

One theory that the sinking manga popularity is due to it is not playing along with the fans' shipping game. The story is ending in January nevertheless.

I wasn't having high hopes, so I know I'll most likely dislike the ending.

Well, it ended. Not a bad ending but not a good ending to me neither. It felt like there were no changes to Yato's life at all and more like the Fairy Tail ending where they just go back to status quo.

To be fair, that's exactly what Yato wanted. He wanted to live his life without having to do his father's dirty work.

I just wish it didn't take so long to get here.
