If you guys want to see YTV play all of the other opening sequences for Gundam SEED rather than just editing the shortened version of “INVOKE” into every episode, now would be a good time to start making a big deal about it, since the second opening sequence is supposed to start on episode 14 which is only weeks away.

Doesn't YTV just show the show as is? I don't think they edit them beyond whatever the CRCT compliance rules are if the companies don't send pre-editted tapes.

The show is pretty much unedited, but they've been splicing in a shortened version of the first opening provided by Bandai probably just so they can "play it safe" with the zero-g boobies and whatnot in the first OP. Of course, there's no need for that now.

The CN version kept using the shortened Invoke even after episode 13, so I just want to make sure that YTV doesn't lop off the other openings if they don't have to.

Well, YTV cut out the scene where LAcus "strips" in front of Kira in the episode where Kira takes her away from Archangel. So much for the unedited version.

Chances are, the only opening that will be shown unedited is the 3rd one. There's no boobies in that opening whatsoever, and while that may be true for the 2nd one as well, YTV may be a little touchy about showing Flay's bare shoulders or Lacus & Kira partially naked. Guess we'll find out in a few weeks weather YTV will go the extra mile. I only watch it on YTV from time to time just to compare to the uncut DVD.

Apart from a few "shits" cut out, that's been pretty much the only noticable edit so far. Of course, that was the most gratuitous piece of fanservice in the series as well.

I don't think YTV will have a problem with the second opening.

Wait! Don't forget about Murrue's bouncing breasts just about everytime the Archangel gets hit. While I rarely watch it on YTV, I'm betting that they edited out those scenes as well. About the only thing that they'll be lenient with is the violence and curse words aside from shit ofcourse.

I don't think they've even gotten to any episodes with that stock footage yet. CN didn't edit them out, so I don't see why YTV would.

I assume you mean that it was removed in that GS on CN showed it? YTV doesn't nessessarily recieve unedited tapes. If the tapes are pre-editted before getting to them, they can't really do much about it.

Actually Bandai sent YTV a completely unedited version of Gundam Seed.
All edits that appear in the show are done solely by YTV.

As expect in North America, the broadcast companies will not show much Janpanese languages in TV. The companies are just patriots!

Most kids would rather just sit back and watch the show than have to read the subtitles. It sucks but kids are lazy. Were it shown with subs, the ratings would probably be much lower.

If you want subtitles, Japanese audio and no edits, buy the DVDs.

Noooo, I meant the opening, ending and insert songs are all Japanese. I don't think that the companies or broadcasters will translate those into English. That's why the broadcasters (Kid WB, Cartoonnetwork, and Fox, CN not at all) will totally cut off those opening and ending scenes, and those insert songs or use another English songs to replace the Japanese songs.

It's just my opinion... I think it's rather nice they get that scene cut. Lacus looks very conceited when she does that in front of kira.

I don't understand what your point is. This has nothing to do with the fact that the songs are in Japanese. The songs that they have and the shortened song that they could potentially continue replacing them with are both in Japanese.

I'm pretty amazed that they cut the Lacus strip scene, while leaving in the scenewhere flay is getting "pretty" to meet her father again. Makes no sense to me.

I don't understand how anyone could stand the YTV version of it.

The voice actors are HORRIBLE to start with.

Scene editing gets into my nerves, and it will even more when they cut some of the scenes of Flay sleeping with Kira or Flay shoving her boobs into kira's face (no i am not a Flay Fanboy, just giving u an obvious example)

of course i am not gonna comment on how dumb it is to cut out the openings. SO what if u see kira and Lacus half naked? or what if u see Flays boobs bouncing over the screen (thats flay im assuming). Im pretty sure that whoever watches GS gets a much larger portion of porn and sexual material from the media and internet compared to what YTV has to offer

just download them guys, and connect with ur CPU with the TV to watch the japonese versions and be done with it. Of course u will need something that corverts digital info into analogue ones. i think most new computers have one installed in them. if u don't have it, u can always buy it pretty cheap.
