New TV anime 'Dive!!' was just announced.

Yuki Kaji will be voicing the MC. Seems to be an TV anime with swimming.
Coming for Summer 2017.

Premise:

The series revolves around the Mizuki Diving Club (MDC), which is on the verge of closing down after having financial troubles. The club's new coach persuades the club's parent company to stay open on one condition: that the club sends one of its members to next year's olympics as part of Japan's olympic team.

Much like Battery, Dive's based on a since completed novel series.
Dive!! got a 5-volume manga version drawn by Ikeno Masahiro in Shuukan Shonen Sunday magazine, and a live action movie in 2008.

If it's nipples you want, I can think of otome game illustrator Kazuki Yone. Her men always have nipples.

There's been complaints the anime's ruined Yasuda's designs; that they're too muscular/not cute enough.

Ok so the elephant in the room here is a certain Kyoto Animation series from a few years back. But really this seems to take itself more seriously with less of the KyoAni pandering.

Also probably an early entry into the "Oh yeah, Tokyo has an olympics in a few years, we should probably make shows which can cash in on that" department.

Idk how to feel about this show...

It obviously has a lot of man service in it and reminds me of Free! somewhat. However, the MC is so plain. Really hope they make the characters more interesting.

This felt like a more serious Free! Nevermind that Free! was about swimming and not diving.

I can't say I like the main character much so far. He's too indecisive and he neglects his girlfriend, who is in fact his girlfriend in name only. I actually can't find a single thing to like about him.

i'm more interested in the Miyu factor. should be interesting to see how they develop the story. the main character showed the reason for his motivation, so hopefully we'll see him improve because of it.

I'm more interested in how the female coach gets them to the Olympics. I do hope that the story is more fleshed our and developed than Free was.

Oh, and Guardian Enzo, seeing your signature line. I just finished rewatching Hikaru no Go. Very emotional and good. I ALSO recommend it to everyone else.

For the most part I liked the first episode. After some of the early comments I was expecting the main character to be a super jerk. And while he could probably be more sensitive to his girlfriend's feelings, it wasn't as bad as I was expecting. At the moment he just comes off as more interested in diving then girls, and a bit socially awkward.

2nd episode came out with more intrigue. Was an ok episode for me with some slow build up and the right amount of confidence and realistic attitudes from the characters.

Yep, that was a lot better than the premiere. They're taking the premise very seriously, and it isn't bad.

Episode 2 has improved my view about the show, mainly because they will go into the mechanics and explaining the training for diving. Even a simple thing like schoolmates starting to drift off due to the maim character devoting more time to the sport is showing up.

Miyu so obviously wanted Tomoki to comment on her hair in this episode, but he never even noticed

Tomoki's two friends are assholes. They're jealous of Tomoki because he's hogging the coach's attention, but that's because he's the only one who took the training regimen seriously and she knows it. She's simply rewarding his hard work.
