So which one's the bad guy again? Blondie there looks like a spiky haired yazan whereas peg-leg guy looks like spike spiegel, plus I wonder what the opening theme will be? Gundam songs are always something to look forward too.

Spiky there is our resident Gundam pilot for the story, Io Flemming. Peg-leg there is a Zeon pilot, Daryl Lorenz. As for who's the bad guy... eh. Your guess is as good as mine, really. This is UC Gundam, after all.

i wonder what songs would they put playing on both Io's & Daryl's respective retro FM radios, i think Io's favorite jazz songs would be kickass when animated, also him playing with his drumsticks in the cockpit

To add to that, they're both sympathetic and they both get a lot of screen time. Probably the same amount of screen time actually.

I like the manga, so I'm looking forward to this. Looks like they are not messing with the overal style of the manga so that's good.

Most probably OVA. The story isn't really TV series material.

The jazz gave me the Cowboy Bebop feel. Although I am glad Gundam (unlike Macross) still sticks with the Cel based CGI for mecha. And its a UC, so it should be interesting. See if it will take them over 5 years to finish this one...

Wait, wait, correct me if I'm wrong but 0079is the time of one year war right? How can such an advanced gundam(from the design at least) on the same time as the retro RX-78?

IIRC there are other Gundam projects that is progressing during the OYW. The RX-79[G] being one of them (the Gundams in 08th MS Team). There's also Blue Destiny units. Even the Gundam NT project is said to already in development during the OYW before we see the said Gundam in action in Gundam 0080. So yeah, EF & Zeon just have many MS projects up their sleeves during the OYW.

Well, it couldn't have been in development afterward considering the story in 0080 took place during the One Year War.
