Why go for the Japanese version? Are there any notable differences?

They speak Japanese.

Eh, the "exclusive preorder content" ploy is pretty lame. If they want us to preorder at a specific place, they should give a discount instead, not punish us by leaving out content that clearly could've been included in the game in the first place.

I'm going with amazon ($57 as opposed to the $64.20 at GameStop).

Well, thankfully, for now at least. We only have to pre-order at Gamestop.

At least it's not like like Mass Effect 2 where there is a bunch of DLC scattered across 10 different places.

Probably just speaking japanese. Everything else is the same. I had a feeling that the game would come out in Japan first, then take a couple of months before hitting NA/EU. If there was a gap between the release date, I wouldve opted for Japanese, just so I can kick ass a few months earlier.

Thankfully, I don't have to!

I can only imagine how... intense this game would be if it was multiplayer. >__>

Have Japanese devs ever created a 3rd or 1st person shooter with a decent competitive multiplayer component before? I know they probably shoud have by now, but for the life of me, I can't think of one off the top of my head. =\

Ya know I watched the video feature that was about the main character (Sam) and I noticed something.

At the every end of the video, there's someone walking down a hallway with the camera focusing on their feet, and it looks like someone wearing a ARS suit like Sam.

A villain of equal power? Or maybe a massive more powerful suit for Sam?

From everything I've seen and read to date, you're seeing (and hearing) the principal antagonist: Victor Zaitsev. And yes, he almost certainly has a battlesuit of his own, with its likely origin being the Russian version of DARPA.

And, before I forget, there is an English site, but it lags behind its Japanese mirror in terms of content - one would think an effort would actually made to eliminate such discrepancies.

I see "SEGA" which I really do like the games the company released "before it went all thorough into anime games" and I'm thinking to myself "Yep, this game is going to be good in some way"

I think what I'm most excited about with Vanquish is the engine it uses. Bayonetta uses the same one, that means there won't be an INCH of screen that doesn't have something going on.

That would also mean the cinematic scenes use the in game engine, meaning we'll see extra costimes (if any) in the cut scenes. I love games that do that.

If Bayonetta and Vanquish are indeed using the same gaming engine, and the way you explained how the engine works, it will defiantly be good.

he was saying that Bayonetta and vanquish uses the same game engine

and also if talking about costume i wish his Operator (the woman talknig to him) could have a Miku costume in the cinematic scenes>_<

They should, but I've still yet to see. Resident Evil 5 had one... somewhat...

The term "Somewhat" is used very loosely.

I especially like the melee movies. That's one hell of sucker punch Sam can give.

Hmm, the Japanese version of the game trailer seems more detailed (if I understood a single word they said)
