It has the same director as Ushio to Tora, same people are responsible for series composition... and it also has Rikiya Koyama and Megumi Hayashibara in the main cast, just like in Ushio to Tora (well, Hayashibara was main villian there, but you get my point).

I agree, it does. I'm just a bit baffled as to why Fujita gets such generous treatment from anime - it's quite counter-intuitive. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth, I guess...
