"If you wern't brought here you could have-"

I cut my father off. "Could have laid in bed groaning for a day and then gone to school like I will as soon as I leave. My exams are coming up. I'm not-"

"Made of glass, we know." Momoko took my hand. "Honey, the doctor said that you need to increase your doseage...."

"Oh great," I rolled my eyes. "Six pills for breakfast, yummy." Looking away, I frowned and would have crossed my arms if not for the fact my left one was being held.

"Sweetheart, I know it's hard but you can't afford to keep taking the risk by living on your own...."

"Mom, really."

"She's right, you have been in bed far too much recently."

"Dad, I have not!" I shook my head. "I have gone on dates and even bungee jumped!"

"What!?" Their word was said at the same time, making me flintch and fall back in bed, tired from my small outbreak.

"I'm living a normal college life," I informed them, getting tired. Even talking made me sleepy now it seemed. " Please. Really. I'll be okay."

A long silence came over the room before my dad changed the topic for me. "Who was the blondie outside?"

"Her? Oh that's Fate-chan. She's...." I thought about what to say. "A really close friend. She brought me here. She also looks after me at home and helps me run the bakery so I can study."

Momoko smiled at me. "Such a nice girl. Are you paying her properly?"

"Um... no, she won't accept money. She's... kind of a millionaire. Maybe more, I dunno. She does it for fun, but I pay her nephew, he helps too." I laughed nervously at their looks. "She's.... really really nice. She dresses a little weird, but don't let it fool you."

"Does she go to church?"

I grinned. "She wears a cross everywhere she goes."

My dad nodded. "I did see that... maybe she is a nice girl aftera--"

A crash and explosion rang from outside my room and I sat up quickly in shock, then felt lightheaded and almost passed out. My mom jumped to my side as my dad ran out the door.

"Hayate, what happened!?"

I could barely make out a semi-familiar girl in the hallway through my hazed vision. "Ummm... " She scratched the back of her head and laughed nervously. "A trolly-bed-thing-a-ma-jigger just slid out of control and crashed through that window down there..."

"And the fire!?" My dad almost shouted as people ran to douse it.

"Um.... I don't know?" The girl started to sweatdrop.

I groaned in pain and felt my mom lean me back in bed. "I want to see Fate-chan..."

My dad came back in the room with the other girl, who I could swear I've seen before. "The blond? She wasn't out there anymore."

The short brown haired girl looked at me and our eyes locked.

For some reason I felt weird....

Vivio fell onto her bed and sighed. "It's hot..." Her words were not unheard by her room mate, who was spread eagle next to her on the bed.

"What.... is up with the air conditioner here?" The blue haired girl moved some of the matted hair off her forehead and felt a bead of sweat roll down her cheek. "I'm dieing..."

"I'm dead..."

Silence passed by over them for a few moments before Syn finally sat up. "I'm stripping."

"Good idea," Vivio lifted herself and literally peeled her drenched shirt off and tossed it, falling onto her back to wiggle out of her jeans.

Syn copied the girl and also pulled her sports bra off and dropped it by the bed, sighing out in releif. "Much better."

"Very." Vivio slid her panties off. "Ugh, sweat stains, nasty."

"That's why I wear blue." Syn shifted hers off and sat back-to-back with Vivio. "They need to hurry up and fix the damn thing."

"Agreed...."

Almost an hour later Syn finally won the battle and grinned as she opened her eyes, panting heavily from the mental workout. Her hair was saturated and matted to her back, chest heaving up and down from the stress of sparring.

Vivio grinned, panting out. "Nice... Syn..."

"You too... Vivio... so good...."

"Very good..."

"Want more?"

"I want more!"

Nanoha fell on her face and the two girls gasped, looking over at them.

"D-don't mind us!" Syn's mother backed out, pulling Nanoha with her.

The door closed and Syn looked at Vivio with wide eyes. "Did they... think we were...?"

Vivio nodded, shocked. "I... I think they did..."

Therefore i issue the page 400 challenge. a short in 400 words! no more, no less! to do with any topic you desire. I would limit the category to fluff, but i realise thats my preference and probably not everyone elses. *pokes Wan Wan and AX for their angst obsessions* if it even relates the the number 400 in the fic all the better. I'm going to go and scribble away something random now. *runs off to find a notepad*

Daylight had started to seep into the small bedroom, flecks coming to rest across the small face that was just visible above the fluffy duvet of the large bed. It stirred slightly as the body was shaken by a foreign hand with slight whispers. “Its morning…..time to wake up Fate…”

“ngggh”

A small chuckle was heard as the adult persisted, slowly drawing back the curtains of the room to let more light in. The young blonde sat up in her bed slightly, one hand unsuccessfully removing the sleep from her eye. “…Lindy…yawn…..-san…..Ohayo” This brought a frown to the older woman’s face.

“Fate, what did we say about today?”

Fate, now a tad more awake looked at the woman expectantly.

A soft sigh was heard as the admiral sat at the side of the bed facing Fate. “Today is the day your officially part of the Harlaown family, we agreed not to be as formal”

‘That’s right, starting today I’m officially a Harlaown. Lindy is now my…..mother…’ Fate let the bangs drop forward a little more as her blush intensified.

“If you call me anything else other than Okaa-san, Fate, I. Won’t. Answer. You~!” The last part was said in a cheerful teasing tone with Lindy wiggling her finger at the blonde. She knew how Fate was on this subject, still really shy about being part of a family. She had got over the previous incident involving her mother through the distraction of the tome of the night sky saga. Now supported by friends all around she was about to start school for the first time.

“Also to commemorate this day, I’m going to take you shopping! Now hurry up and get ready Fate!”

“Ok…….Okaa-san…..” said a bashful Fate as she got out of bed on the opposite side of the bed her mother was. Lindy could not stop the smile spreading across her face as she started to leave the room.

Fate had just taken her pajama top off as Lindy looked round causing the blonde to blush.

“Ohh you’ve grown Fate!”

“Lindy-san!”

“Fate!”

“…Okaa-san”

Back into mother mode Lindy walked over to the now red faced blonde covering her chest.

“Looks like we can get you your first bra today”

Fate didn’t stop looking from the floor.

“Maybe Nanoha will notice if we get a nice one….”

Fates head snapped up. “Okaa-san!”

Lindy chuckled as she finally left the room.

Gah i was getting too much into my own challenge. This ones 408 words, and its a bit early for the season, but i got inspiration when the song came on.

Spoiler for Dressing Up:

The inspiration....... added for mood music (italics mean the song in background, not Vivio singing)

Vivio was happy. She was currently playing an old song from Nanoha-mama’s home planet by some man called Michael Jackson. She was dancing away in front of the mirror.

“Cos this is Thriller! Thriller now!”

She was pirouetting away and totally forgot that she had asked Syn to come over for a surprise, and boy did she get one. Walking into the apartment she knew so well there was Vivio dressed all in black. Black high heels, black criss cross stockings, small black mini-skirt, semi-transparent black strappy top with red bra underneath. Matched with a large silver cross over the front of her now ample chest, Syn’s eyes lingered there for a little too long before they rose up to meet the two heterochromatic eyes looking at her curiously.

Syn blushed heavily before stuttering out a response. “Vi…Vivio! What the hell are you doing!”

Vivio only walked closer, black makeup becoming more apparent as she slowly smiled revealing her devilish fangs. Syn backed away slightly as the music changed to a deep evil voice…

“Darkness falls across the land, midnight hand is close at hand, creatures crawl in search of blood….”

Vivio closed in to Syn now looking very afraid and confused. The blue haired girl was frozen to the spot, not quite sure what to make of her friend, she had done some crazy stuff before, but this took it to a whole new level.

As Vivio moved closer, she knew the song was getting to its climax

“The evil of…the Thriller!”

Vivio lunged for Syn and bit down on the girls neck as Syn let out a yelp trying to get away from the blonde as they both fell to the floor with Vivio on top of Syn laughing uncontrollably.

“Vi… VIVIO! WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT!”

“Haha Syn your face was priceless!”

“Mou! I’m leaving!”

Syn made to get up but was stopped by Vivio as she explained the earth holiday of Halloween.

“You can’t leave until you put your costume on Syn….”

The blue haired girl was dragged into Vivios room and forced to change.

After much complaining and many “Hell no am I wearing that!!!” Syn finally relented and appeared in front of Vivio blushing like crazy in the outfit.

Vivio had dressed Syn up as a devil, with a skin tight red leotard and plastic fork and flashing horns.

Vivio growled at the bashful girl. “I thought I was the only devil….”

Almost an hour later Syn finally won the battle and grinned as she opened her eyes, panting heavily from the mental workout. Her hair was saturated and matted to her back, chest heaving up and down from the stress of sparring.

Vivio grinned, panting out. "Nice... Syn..."

"You too... Vivio... so good...."

Nanoha fell on her face and the two girls gasped, looking over at them.

"Sweetheart, I know it's hard but you can't afford to keep taking the risk by living on your own...."

"She's right, you have been in bed far too much recently."

"Dad, I have not!" I shook my head. "I have gone on dates and even bungee jumped!"

A long silence came over the room before my dad changed the topic for me. "Who was the blondie outside?"

I could barely make out a semi-familiar girl in the hallway through my hazed vision. "Ummm... " She scratched the back of her head and laughed nervously. "A trolly-bed-thing-a-ma-jigger just slid out of control and crashed through that window down there..."

Syn was cursing herself for being manipulated so easily. She thought that she was stubborn and intelligent enough to win any argument and not be outwitted. It seems there were still some people out there who she would never reach. It all began so simply, she was eating lunch with her commander, one Yagami Hayate. Who happened to just be in one of her matchmaking moods, catching Syn completely off guard.

“So Syn……..do you think Vivio’s attractive….?”

Not paying any attention to the question she answered nonchalantly, as their conversation so far had been fairly inconsequential.

Syn missed the important word in that sentence. “The guys don’t know her! They just want to get in her pants anyway!”

Syn was getting angry now, and sharp with her tongue. ‘Just a little further.’ Hayate thought’

“Do you want to get in her pants Syn?”

“Ye-Wait! What are you saying!” Syn finally caught up with the conversation looking wide eyed at her superior officer.

‘Hook line and sinker! Now for part two!’ Hayate smirked evily.

“Now Syn, if you don’t want me to mention that little tit bit of information to your current room mate theres something I’d like you to do for me…”

This brings us back to Syn’s current situation. She was in Hayate’s apartment, currently being fawned over by said person as she fiddled with the costume she had been forced to cosplay.

“There all done!” Hayate beamed happily at the sight before her. She never imagined it would look this good. Now for part three of the plan.

A whoosh was heard before some foot steps entered the room.

A certain blonde mage stopped dead in her tracks. The current image was unconsciously burned into her mind forever, on a small platform, stood Syn, her secret crush, in the most delectable outfit you had ever seen.

Yeah photoshop skills suck, couldn't find a decent picture, all i could do was colour the hair blue. I tried to do the eyes, but i couldn't take out the mask properly. Utter failiure. Wanted to find a mini rider somewhere and was going to settle for a modified Lutecia pic, but i wanted the outfit. Apologies to Keroko for warping Syn beyond all recognition.

Why does everyone (exageration) keep using ! in place of spaces? Like Vampire!Fate for example.
