About the remake:

GAH. I think changing Tsugumi's costume is a catastrophic idea.
In my opinion, the biggest twist in the game, the one that REALLY packs a punch is the hidden time gap.
The game is full of traps to trick you into thinking that the two events are one and the same - in a way, we're Blick Winkel.
Of course there are inconsistencies, such as Coco and Sara's presence, but all of it could be explained away using parallel dimensions and such.
One person with different clothes, however? That SCREAMS "same person, different day" to me.
And you might argue whether or not it's obvious enough for new players to see through it immediately, but you can't deny the fact that this will be the deciding factor for at least SOME players. And why would you do it, anyway? Part of what makes this game a masterpiece is the fact that it's one large mind trap. You can NOT see it coming. Why push it? Why take small risks of ruining it? :/

As for which route to play first:

For the same reasons I stated above, I believe You's route should be first. The reason is that I think seeing a 2034 route first completely destroys any chance you might have had of thinking Takeshi's story is "earlier". If you play it after playing Tsugumi's route, you might suspect something when Tsugumi says "You guys are trying to repeat last time"...
Also, her tsundere attitude is more believable if you see it first and THEN play her own route. Somehow, the shift in her attitude makes sense when you think "Okay, she's more friendly now, but that's because 'it's her route', and as Takeshi I'm 'making the right choices'...." but maybe that's just me.
I specifically said You's route and not Sara's, since I think Sara's route should be saved for last. Mainly because it's the one route that actually has some ANSWERS in it rather than more and more questions.

I know you might be set on what you're thinking but

How is a change of clothes any more significant than a complete change of characters? Any explanation you could have for the Sara Coco difference can apply to Tsugumi's new outfit.

And plus as I mentioned before, we do not know yet how they are going to explain her change of clothes. There might be a perfectly reasonable explanation for it. (Like she has to change clothes sometime in the middle of the story).

As for the delay, I think it's the usual "behind schedule" thing that happens to almost all of these types of games. I wouldn't put anything significant behind it.

The difference is psychological. The brain is used to working in certain ways. It's like the whole "Lin Lin/ Lang Lang" thing they talked about in Coco's route- presenting the same person with different names might make you think they're different people, or two people with the same name as one person. In the same way, I believe that putting one person with different clothing makes you think "one person, different day". As someone said before me, that's how we're used to think when looking at photo albums and such - 'he changed clothes here, so some time must have passed.' And I'm not saying 'OHNOES NOW EVERYONE WILL KNOW', just that there's a danger that for SOME people it will be the one clue to make them consider the option. It won't become obvious, just ever so slightly less unpredictable than before.

I do agree though that if pulled properly, they COULD mix it into the story in a way that makes sense to an unsuspecting viewer. She could change into these clothes near the beginning of the game, with some excuse that has to do with Sara's presence or something like that.
Which will also not be surprising since the new ending probably has something to do with the relationship between Sara and Tsugumi...as we can guess from the new CG.

Whether Sara / Coco is present could easily be caused by events occurring at LEMU. (A delay might have been the difference between escaping and getting caught.) OTOH, visitors generally don't bring extra clothes to theme parks, so any changes to what Tsugumi is wearing are likely related to changes before arriving at LEMU.

The game switches back between the Kid and Takeshi midstream, you'll see Sara one moment, then Coco the next, all before the viewer is revealed that the protagonists are actually two different people. Tsugumi doesn't contribute to any of that. She just adds to the difference that can casually be explained either by an alternate dimension, hallucination, or different day.

To infer from her (and only her, mind you, everyone else still has the same clothes. We'd have a stronger argument had everyone been changed) alone that one is going through a time skip is a very high jump of logic, and I commend the people who will be able to catch that, but they will definitely make a small proportion of the new gamers.

And honestly, if you had that much perception, you probably would have figured it out anyway, without the change of clothing.

And again, I would like to iterate we still don't know how it's been worked into the story yet. Whether she just shows up like that right off the bat or it's a change later on.

But worse comes to worse with these OPs and EDs, I can always rip my old CDs and put the 360's custom soundtrack system to good use.

So I just beat my first route, and got tsugumi's bad ending, where they rip out your heart and crush it in your face. Then I went back and got the "good" ending, where they also rip out your heart,crush it in front of your face, and then proceed to laugh at you because you were expecting something else.

I found the ultimate ending satisfying and happy. Not in the sense that all the sad events became magically undone, but rather, there's a good closure to the lingering grief and everyone can move on.

But yeah, i believe most of us went through the "WTF?!" stage too, long before we reached the "That was amazing!" stage
