Started reading this as well.
It does a decent job of pretending to have gameplay even though its just a standard read VN. I'm confused with the setting though, similar to Kagetsu, where it seems to run on the thing that all the routes happened at once. Like I don't get how all the servants are just lodging around in any type of connection to F/SN.

Finished the main story (99.2% completion). I should only have the epilogue left to read.
Was it worth the wait? Probably not. Was it good? Hell yes! My only complaint would be the slice of life to plot ratio was too extreme. It was pretty much 90% slice of life, 10% plot. Some people are probably going to get bored, but the good news is that they can skip most of the slice of life if they want. That would be missing the main attraction of the game though. Seeing the servants and their masters coexisting peacefully and learning more about the servants that didn't have much screentime in F/SN (Caster, Lancer, Rider) was a real treat. Overall, it was a lot of fun. The only part of the game I didn't enjoy is Himuro's eclipse. Goddamn, it was so annoying to read. Bazett and Avenger's story was interesting and had some nice twists. Too bad these two had so few screentime. Same goes for Caren whom I expected her to have a lot more scenes. It's a shame we didn't find out that much more about the third war either. In the end, it's pretty much a fanservice game with some plot on the side. If you love the characters in F/SN, you'll definitely enjoy it. The character who comes out on top for me after this game is Rider. She's so great Sucks she's going to have zero screentime in the upcoming anime.

Just asking, but is the so-called "Winchester incident", by which Tohsaka brought back the Servants and their masters, detailed anywhere? It is just mentioned in the game in passing as the reason why everybody is alive again, and I'd love to see it written out in detail.

Sooo, since none of the lore experts are making a sound, I guess it is just a "BTW, that happened" plot device to set up Fate Hollow Ataraxia? I would have expected a bit more of a "show, don't tell" attitude from the writers of the game, especially given how into detail they go about everything and everyone else in the game.

Both of it. It has a ton of slice of life moments, but has a lot of serious stuff as well. It is about 30 hours long. If you want to spend more time with the Fate characters (ALL of them, save one), then this is a good game for you.
