I'm going to be as objective as possible here and give it a very simple comparison to the original
Visuals. They are the same and more resolution or a few lines here and there are not enough to deem it better. Sound. More variety thus better. Story. They took out many bad scenes but also many character coloring scenes. They also left out 1/4th of the story so it is worse. Characters. Without those boring but needed to colorize scenes, they feel drier. So I say they are worse. Value. Zero. It is not a remake and it is appealing to the original's fame. Enjoyment. Better variety in music but less story and colorful characters. One step forward and two backwards. Thus worse than Z. |

Z still has value if you want to go back and watch some vintage animation, though I think Kai deserves credit for the choices the directors made. |

If one wants to see more, there are many Dragonball movies, specials, video games, and books that flesh out the material. And the list of that keeps growing. |

I'm currently at episode 15. It's amazing how different the series feels this early on. I can't wait to watch the rest of it too, and hope they remaster the Buu saga. GT can go die a fiery death though.
