From what I remembered in True Ending, he's almost dead anyway. So, you can say he died early in Normal End (Killed by Sakura's darkness in the forest)

I've never triggered Limit Burst flag, so I don't know. But if you play normally you fight with Kirei before you can choose either ends.

Spoiler for HF Shirou vs. Kotomine:

And both Shirou and Kotomine is pretty much close to their ends. Dark sakura has siphoned out the remains of the Grail from Kirei so he barely managed to keep himself alive while Shirou's used projection at the maximum times. Both has hardly enough energy to even fight, not to mention casting magic. Kotomine has the upper hand in the fight, but his fake heart dies off in the middle and dies. And he says it was only the matter of timing. If Shirou has opened up the seal few minutes earlier then He's the one dying middle-fight. After that you have the choice to either destroy the grail yourself or hesitating and doing somone other for you. The reason because they left out the Kotomine fight from the Limit Burst end, because Shirou probably used up too much energy and he would be the one losing the fight. And they don't wanted a 41th Bad End.

He dies in Normal End anyway. His soul completely merges with Archers and his body dies at the moment he destroys the Great Grail. Shirou dies a heroic death, only partially keeping his promise. It's kind of different in True End, regarded as the happiest ending...probably because of the happy atmosphere despite the previous depressing happenings.

I didn't remember having some choice at the end, so I wouldn't know if Kirei is there in 'other'
Normal End.

If you don't use Limit Burst you have actually two choices. So both Normal and True end is reachable.

That's how I got those ends too. I don't know what triggers the choice but I believe I had enough affection points for both Sakura and Ilya. As for Kirei, like I said, it's either a huge hole in the plot or I am missing something. Maybe it's a bug in the game or the patch, it sounds more logical that the 2nd choice should appear regardless of whether Shirou has reached his projection limit after the fight with Kirei; rather, the way to get to Normal End that kakakka and I have used is flawed and should not be there.

After Limit Burst, Shirou's pretty much a junk both mentally and physically. That's why only Normal end is avalible and only a butchered version. Because if he fights Kirei he's sure to lose against him in that state. That's why they abadonned that part. To reach normal end you have two methods. Either triggering Burst Limit or Chosing to destroy the Grail by yourself. But if you choose the former it seems you miss the (awesome) Kirei vs Shirou deathmatch. Something for something. In return for the badass Saber soloing.

Q: Why had Shirou a Summoning Circle in his shed?
It's really mysterious.

Maybe Kitsurugi summoned Saber from the shed too and left accidentally. It could have been his "workshop" too.

It was a workshop for a while. But not where Saber got summoned. She gets summoned in the Einzebern stronghold and Kiritsugu relocates to his current house after their forest castle gets hammered by several servants in rapid succession.

I know, but it's strange even for a workshop to have a summoning circle. Not to mention one that's capable of summoning a Servant. I understand how Shirou managed to summon saber(by his daily training he slowly but surely charged up the summoning circle), but the existence of summoning circle is a mystery in itself.

And why the heck is Shirou wearing such stupid clothes and never changes it? I mean look at Ichigo from Bleach, at least he wears something normal, though his gar level is obviously much lower than Shirou. Poor Shirou...
