I just started this.....and quickly got up to episode ten.

Holy shit. I was sooooooooo so SO wrong about this series...it's GOOD!

Impressions:

I don't really have anything to say about Eren so far. He's just something out of Generic Shonen Hero 101 to me. He's not bad...but I've seen better.

Mikasa is soooo pretty.....please please PLEASE don't fucking fodderize her like I've seen in other series of this type(Naruto and Bleach, I'm talking to you...with your badass babes in the beginning only to get killed off or used as fodder). She's great and she and Armin are the best nakama I've seen in a long time.

Potato Girl is another character I hope doesn't die.

Levi seems like he's going to be the Mustang of this group. I recognize Kamiya ANYWHERE.

Fuck Jean.

Everyone else, I don't really have an opinion on. Though I do know what Annie is in the end...

I'm glad I'm not the only one to notice FMA similarities everywhere, both when it comes to characters and character designs (Jean=Jean Havoc?) and the themes (Eren answering Armin as to why he wanted to go outside despite the danger involved contrasted nicely with FMA's 'don't get too close to the sun' message IMHO).

I don't think Generic Shounen Heros are allowed to have mental issues as Eren does though. His character was a welcome change for me and the same goes for Mikasa. You share my hope in her not becoming a sidelined character. (I really hated what Kishimoto did with Sakura later on in Naruto, what was the point of introducing her as one of the mains if in the end she's reduced to just being there? Excuse my off-topic.) Mikasa's VA (Yui Ishikawa) is more or less a newcomer, but she did such an amazing job I can't wait to hear more of her! I wouldn't like Mikasa as much as I do if it wasn't for her VA.

and I'm up to where Levi's being fully introduced. Love him too(this is the best role I've heard Kamiya in), but goddamn is he small....

As for Eren...I do know some things(yeah I spoilered myself ) but does the series explain why he can switch into Titan mode?

If there's one thing that seriously attracts me to a show, it's how it treats its female characters. One thing that I loved at first about Bleach was how strong Rukia and other female characters were...but nowadays? I absolutely fucking DESPISE Kubo for what he's done to most of the female characters.

I like the fact that women are just as vulnerable as the men are in AOT. And I LOVE the fact that Mikasa is stronger than a good portion of the group....(of course she's not as strong as Eren, but whatever...)

I was sceptical about him at first as well, but he really develops later on, although I can't say he's one of my favourite characters...

Nah, by far the best Kamiya role is Izaya Orihara. Levi is his second best though.

When you fight against a titan, how much you can lift doesn't matter. Those titans are just way overpowered!

there was a manga where a human girl is giant and fights against enemies to protect her "darling". Though don't remember name.All i remember it should be a complete series and that it should not be big, around 30 ch maybe??
