The 'teacher' part isn't actually anywhere in the title, so that's no excuse either.
Since when does Negima stand for magister? Wasn't that just the name they thought up for the "bring negi home" club before Eva stomped it?

And the title of the manga is, and has always been, Mahou Sensei Negima. Teacher's right there in the middle.

It's always annoying when the plot takes a turn that tries to make us believe Negi is fated to become a carbon copy of Nagi, when they clearly are so different.

Trigun to Trigun Maximum (Maximum runs longer than the first series, even).

Battle Angel Alita to Last Order (I don't know how the continuity goes there, the first volume of BAA is still in transit to my home).

Saint Seiya to Saint Seiya Next Dimension (Next Dimension being started by the original author years after the first one wrapped up because of suit issues, and it's both sequel AND prequel because time travel is involved, imagine that).

Even though I'm still worried regarding how akamatsu might wrap the ending of Negima, I must say this last chapter hit a weak spot on my side

Spoiler for Chapter 352:

Genshiken did a few years later. The original manga ended with the graduation of Sashara and Saki and covered the four years the two of them were at college and members of the Genshiken club. Later, Kio-sensei did a 1-chapter special to show the club carrying on after Sasahara and Saki were gone. Then a year later, it was decided that a "next generation" Genshiken (Genshiken Niadame) would be done on a limited basis, to create enough chapters to fill a volume, which would then become the 10th volume in the Genshiken series. A few months into this, the decision was made to make the series permanent, so now we have volume 11 with materials for volume 12 being published.

So while rare, it can happen, providing (1) the manga-ka is willing, (2) the publisher is willing, and (3) the fans are willing. ^_^

As to a sequel, frankly, I don't think I'd mind seeing Negima! shift to J-Comi, where Akamatsu-sensei could have an easier work schedule and put out a quality product. My concern would be getting a GOOD English translation, and getting this eventually in book form.

Might as well have Eva vampirize all of 3-A.

...wait, where's Sayo in all of this anyway?

Don't you just love the fact when you try to press report only to get
"Gundamx, you do not have permission to access this page.".....

Anyway, I think that the gravestone is empty because they couldn't find his body = MIA
(MIA =/= dead)
Maybe he couldn't return because he lost his memory after the fight?
Or because a lot of people start question Nagi youth so he fake his death?
Or the writer is just plain lazy and just want to end the manga?

2135 is 132 years after Mahora festival on 2003, which obviously exactly the years the magic tree glows.

add to that the appearance of Chao....

"If I was the editor in chief, I would have the appropriate courage to discontinue a 「Manga that got a limited edition, priced at 5000 yens, which 57000 copies were pre-ordered」 *laughs*."

I'd say that Negi had to fake his death out of practical necessity. Immortal Heroes are uneasily tolerated.....

Hmm, does this mean that Negi is around? But if so-

Original question: Mr. Akamatsu, I've heard that you're planning on ending Negima; was it always your plan to end it here?

Answer: If I were an editor-in-chief, I don't think I'd have the courage to cancel a series whose limited edition costing 5, 000 yen (roughly $60 USD) had 57, 000 preorders. (lol)

So basically it's Akamatsu himself that wants to end Negima, right? If that were true, at least that ease my worries of this getting axed as one of the reason why he ended this too abruptly.

There was no reason to worry about it being canned for external reasons: no publisher in their right mind would deliberately cancel a series that sell extremely well for its vintage without being part of the "big 3 shounen" (and that is before factoring the LE big score).

That said, it is very likely that his editor and publisher would pressure him to continue the series (similarly to what they did with Love Hina) unless there are definite points that made them give up: staunch position from Akamatsu, another project related to negima etc... few possibilities exist.
