At least the woman tried her best in the situation, rather than sitting around. If Sheryl's on her way to become a Valkyrie Pilot, then with enough training, she'll do good like Alto did in these few episodes. :P

i'll make sure i ask what part of the show is that located at next week so i can skip it, i deemed that to be unacceptable and reckless behavior on the staff's part.

I think it's just Ranka not realizing she paraded around in her underwear.

This was Sheryl first time piloting the VF-25. She'll get better with time and more training. Sheryl did manage to bring an unconscious Michael part of the way to safety. Who's piloting really sucked was Luca. IMO he was better off staying on the ship. He almost died again if Alto hadn't saved his a** again he would have.

That 1% possibility tells you you're wrong. I'm pretty sure those 'capsulated organisms' are virus. Those are what making Ranka's belly glow. The Vajra virus, maybe? The possibility that Ranka was a test subject is going over the top now. I wouldn't be surprised if everyone on board the 117th research fleet injected that virus onto themselves and are the same as Ranka. It's just that, Brera "seems" to be different from Ranka which is supposed to be from that ship too. =/ The Vajra was portrayed in a different light. What a twist.

Spoiler:

Ranka better be living and breathing in Frontier with Alto & her loved ones by the end of this series. This show deserves a happy ending. For everyone, including Vajra lol Coexistence.

Though I have to admit, the story is getting really really good because of this.

Spoiler for highlights of 14 for me:

-Michael was KO'd, there goes my MichaelxSheryl interaction lol He has to be outcold for a while if Grace were to continue poisoning Sheryl with her witchcraft. No wonder she's not well yet by episode 18.

-Sheryl's flight was a classic Sheryl moment. Sure it was a flop, but that's what made it classic lol

-NanasexLuca, it's going to happen. I can tell.

-When Maaya Sakamoto sang Aimo, I thought the song just leveled up. I love Ranka's Aimo and all, but Maaya's version just had that "the real deal" feeling written all over it. ^_^ Maaya's the best.

-Is it just me or is someone not finding anything wrong with one of the bridge bunnies crushing on Capt. Wilder? How old is he? 50? If those two got together, then a true lolicon will finally show up on the ranks.

-Sheryl sending Alto off made me smile. Alto's response to her was like a red flag saying "Thanks but all I can think about is saving Ranka so back off" lol!
-Sheryl's reaction was pretty much the same as Luca and Ozma when they saw Alto recklessly (and brilliantly) blow up some Vajra to get to Ranka. The difference between her and Ranka is that, Ranka thinks that Alto fancies Sheryl. Sheryl, on the other hand, sees how Alto cares about Ranka. It would be interesting to see Ranka and Sheryl talk about Alto considering the fact that Sheryl is also aware of Ranka's feelings.

-Brera's "Move it you're in the way" was another awesome Macross Vampire Knight moment.

-RANKA:

I'm starting to see how she's going to mature in the future. I loved the flashback when she stood up to Ozma before coming to Galia 4. Him and Bobby talking about Ranka growing up and falling in love was a nice insight. I can't wait for the subs. The people who keep complaining about her lack of backbone is going to start dwindling down by the end of this series. Her flashbacks of everyone mainly Alto shows how important her friends are to her. More than her desire to be famous, she just wants to be with the people she loves. I think this is going to play out in the future and can end up pushing her to do something crazy for the sake of them. If she can communicate with the Vajra, then maybe she'll be a mediator or something.

ALTO:

I just realized, this guy has it all. Looks, Acting Skills, Rich family, Top grades, Excellent Piloting Skills. If he was a real person, I'll want to stab him lol I'm so impressed by him though. He totally shined here. I know he cares about Ranka, but I didn't think he would be this determined about it. It's like Ichigo saving Rukia and overcoming all odds. He didn't even feel any stress with Ozma murmuring how he'll kill him if he messes up. Just like Ranka was shown to push herself when Alto's life was on the line, Alto was also shown to do the same thing when it comes to Ranka. His flashbacks of her and the amount of his resolve are what make this behavior different.

Now we all know Ranka's feelings for Alto aren't misplaced since the guy is clearly willing to go to hell and back just for her. It's mutual.

The end of this episode kind of left me hanging, but AltoxRanka's reunion next episode is going to be cute. Can't wait for more.

It's weird, but considering they are both adults and the woman involved doesn't look anything like a loli, I don't have any issues with it.

With the next Sheryl "Concert" does seem reminicent of Sharon Apple.

Grace being an AI compounds it.

It wouldn't surprise me if the people of Galaxy is hypnotized and under control by Grace.

Sheryl will be the wrench in Grace's plan much like Myung was to Sharon Apple.

Why didn't Grace come back in a different body? She could had let Sheryl and the rest of them think she was dead. She could have downloaded herself to a different body. For example new body could have been a high school girl who became Sheryl's friend. How is she going to explain how she survived when everyone on the part of Gallia 4 that was destroyed should be dead.

The creepy idea occurs to me that Brera isn't a cyborg because he was injured during the 117th destruction, but had the infected tissue cut out of him for experimentation after being secured by Grace's faction.

I completely agree with you, it literally threw me off my chair when I heard it! Ranka's version is great, but I pray with all my soul that Maaya will release her own Aimo version!

So I finally seen it.

I have to admit, I am at a slight loss here. Not that its a bad thing because it isn't. It was a good episode, I just don't know what to make out of it. Mysteries abound.

Its sad to see Raramia biting it, but perhaps we saw that coming. After all, she had no voice actress! On the other hand, its nice to see NUNS pilots having a pair. About time.

So they mentioned Ranka as the 'queen'. I wonder. I don't think the Vajra are an experiment at all, I think Ranka is an experiment. She represents an attempt for mankind to control Vajra but somehow failing utterly because controlling protoculture is beyond human capacity.

But no, we'd do anything, anything stupid to compensate for our curiosity won't we ladies n' gents. Even if there is a big label with a huge jolly roger all over it.

-Mayaa's singing of Aimo is way beyond my expectations. o.O I can at least do my best to forget the song "Triangler" ever existed now.

WTF moments

-Vajra Mothership: One macross cannon could obliterate it? It kind of kills the "OMGWTFHIVESHIP!" moment.

-Pixie wingman just shot off like that feels like a pointless death though. Along the lines of "Kill them all!" Gundam feeling. Which one was the one killed off, the pink or the red haired Pixie?

I've felt the same way, but it's still depressing to see her get hurt over and over. I know it's a standard part of character development for them to fall before growing, but I like Sheryl a lot and always hope for the best for her.

By the way, that lady singing Aimo looked a lot like Sheryl, or is it just me? could Sheryl be also involved in some way? Although Seems unlikely as far as we can tell, the one with most exposure to the Vajra has been Ranka.

Also, more valkyrie fighting, yay! I love the romantic side of Macross (is the main point of everything after all) but the battle scenes from Macross Frontier are great and I always wish there was just a bit more every time ^^

I got the 「ざくとは違うんだよ、ざくとは！」impression in that scene.

After the last episode, I am pretty sure that Ranka was part of an experiment of some sort. I figure the Vajura were relatively benign until someone went and riled them up.

Hm, I'm pretty sure Ranka will survive in the end of the episode, once you off Grace and Leon. She appears to me as the peacemaker between Vajra and humans. She'll probably pull a Minmei by the end of the series as the Minmei Attack resolved peace between the two sides.
