Our console was designed around the Kinect! There'll never be a Kinectless SKU!

B-b-b-but if you're really NSA paranoia, you can choose to disconnect it, even though we previously said it must be connected for the console to even work!

B-bu-but if you really hate talking that much, you can use a remote!!

Story of Xbox One.

Is this in preparation for a Kinect-less version? Or an admission that their voice control isn't up to shape? (I haven't been following xbox one news for a while)

Apparently so... Is it just me or are Microsoft pretty bad at keeping secrets these days ? Sure it's highly likely that this recent one was purposefully leaked, but there are tons of other rumors and leaks before then while Sony is air tight about their master plans.

Well the main m$ leaker looks like he is going to be banned now on gaf and I'm sure MS spread some false info to certain people and can now narrow their search.

I am pretty sure one month of play isn't so much a game as a preview. Imagine if the original Gameboy only allow you to play the bundled Tetris for one month.

It still retail for traditional full priced AAA games. I think anyone buying a Titanfall bundle is going to sub XBL as long as they care to play any multiplayer games anyway.

It's a mediocre bundle still, no custom print on the console or controller is kind of a bummer. Isn't that a key reason why people would buy bundled pack?

1 month free xbl

can sign up for 1 or was it 2 week trials 3 times on each xbox.

and fact of the matter is you're going to be paying for online anyway if you want to play these type of games on xbox or ps4, no one's checking for planetside 2 over destiny.

I dunno, getting a free game plus a month of LIVE for the same price as the regular pack (which has no game and only 14 days of LIVE) sounds like a good hook.

We all know EA's the one to point fingers at for this idiotic trend of online only games anyways, so to me it looks like they're trying to give people a better deal.

Not that I would want this $500 set top box anyways.

It's already been confirmed that always-online MMO-ish games like TESO and FFXIV and Destiny wouldn't need PS+, and that F2P games like planetside and Warframe are also not behind the paywall.

Which leaves actually very little behind that paywall if you think about it- Still need Gold if you wan to play an mmo on Xbox though http://gematsu.com/2014/01/elder-scr...aystation-plus

People are speculating EA is now in the business of claiming "Our games won't have micro-transactions at launch" (ie. fancy wording meant to be interpreted as never, but really saying "at the start") then patching in micro-transactions after reviews are out and positive and such. Supposedly plants vs zombies had some nasty micro-transactions patched in, and there's rumors garden warfare (which is 40$) will have them too. If this turns out to be true, I have to wonder if Titanfall will receive a similar treatment.

God, they're patching it in later now? To think I was sitting here wondering how much worse they could get.

So much for it being a rumor,

Quote:
“So we’re not going to have any microtransactions at all at launch,” PopCap Games producer Brian Lindley told GameSpot at a recent press event.

Following the release of Garden Warfare, Lindley explained that PopCap will look at in-game metrics and player feedback to determine how best to move forward. This could include offering in-game payments, but one thing is for sure: microtransactions “definitely” won’t be available at launch.

Again this is $40 for the privilege of getting nickle and dimmed; next gen indeed.
