Somebody is going to be facing the operating end of a rifle. This should be interesting. Akiyuki turns into Xam'd to protect his friends and Furuichi attempts to shoot him because he's the enemy now. Looking forward to more head shots.

The boys and girls responsible for spreading Xam'd sure did go out of there way to make sure the whole island was covered. We've got Akiyuki, Mother-And-Child, and now, old country guy, all apparently the result of white-haired suicide bombers.

I'm really loving how the series keeps on breaking conventions. The hero is smart, learns fast, and knows exactly what he ought to say in order to make progress. The evil scientist is not secure or in control. The key to mastering Xam'd is not to get really angry and scream every time you attack, but rather, to think. The crew doesn't intentionally withold important details from the hero.

I thought that the only confirmed product of the suicide bomber was Akiyuki. The country guy and the father of the girl were from the Northern bombings. The origin of Mother and child wasn't known yet.

I think previous episodes vaguely mentioned that Mother-And-Child came from a subway bombing. The subtitles aren't as clear as they could be, so I'm not entirely certain when the subway bombing happened. This was mentioned in the scene when the evil scientist was introducing Kakisu to the giant Xam'd.

Animation quality going on a downward slide.. pity, since the first 2 episodes were amazing.

You can tell that the key frame animation was drawn by a different animator and the normal cut frames weren't even animated properly. Disappointing

It's also turning out to be much more run-of-the-mill anime I expected, so I'm no longer looking forward to this becoming a legendary classic like Nadia, Secret of the Blue Waters etc.. Still fairly enjoyable so I'll hold on for a while longer.

Before i start, let's have a nice warm welcome for Fujiawara Keiji!

I'm so happy he has a role in this series, but not just any role --- he's voicing none other then Raigyo! The minute he appeared for that split second down below, i just knew it was going to be Raigyo, just knew it. His Xam'd form was pretty damn sexy, though shame we only got to see it for a few minutes. Also looks like he's fully aware of Haru's gift (so to say) that she can understand the humanforms. The fact that he knows that just adds onto all the mysteries surrounding him.

The reuniting scene between Akiyuki and Haru was nicely done. I especially loved the BGM that was played -- it summed up perfectly how much these two wanted to see each other character. The whole issue with Furuichi was pretty predictable, though still an interesting part of the series. You could already see in his first scene in the cave that he was making little digs at Haru to do with waiting for Akiyuki --- and then jealousy completely takes over. I hope they don't build him up as to having a rivalry with Akiyuki. Though done right it could be alright.
