Is R07 SERIOUS about releasing it on the last day of the year?

Not that I'm complaining. It actually gives me a realistic time to finish Ep7 before I grind through all the Kanji of Ep8. It may as well be good that they come out during Xmas break. I wouldn't have been able to pound through 5 and 6 if it wasn't.

As a head's up, we do plan on rewriting the epitaph translation for the 100% patch, as well as updating the hint sections in EP3 and EP5 to make it a little more fair for English speakers. No changes will be made for the 50% patch though.

Okay, I've finally ordered the 3 new games, in addition to the PS3 one, which I ordered ages ago. I guess I'll have to speed up on my kanji learning so that I have to rely less on my electronic dictionary, so that I can read much faster. But, either way, I cannot wait for EP8. I seriously want to go through it, and realise how many things I've been able to get right and how exactly R07 plans on wrapping up this story.

Working on Episode 7 while taking care of various matters at hand, including the download versions of Episode 7 wasn't a cake walk, but it paid off in the end.

As promised, we are first releasing a second partial patch of Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru, Episode 7: Requiem of the golden witch.
This patch covers 50% of this episode.

You can grab the new patch on our website. Please check this link (build: version 3.2).

Also, our current progress on Episode 7 is like this:
-Translation: 100%
-Editing: 50%

Although the translation has been complete, please keep in mind that the latter half of Episode 7 requires a thorough editing due to various changes we have to apply.
Notably, we will have to tweek the translation of the epitaph. As chronotrig has already explained, the epitaph isn't technically solvable for English fans. Since the answer has finally been revealed, we are working so English fans will have a chance to solve it with the same kind of efforts that Japanese fans had to make.
As the new translation shall be available with the final patch, we will try to deliver it before that release.

Also, regarding the download version of Episode 7, hobibox is almost done on their end, so it is soon to follow (either later today or tomorrow).

If you update your patch folder (from 3.1 build) with the 50% patch (3.2), it should unlock the chapter skip so you can resume after where the first partial patch ended.

Hmm. That's odd. I did have the 3.1 build and updated to the 3.2 build, but I saw no chapter skip option upon starting Episode 7 up again. Oh well. Guess I'll just skip through what I already read. It's better than nothing. That's for sure.
