I would love to see an anime adaptation of chiru just to laugh at it if it's really, really, bad. I just don't beleive they'll make one. Unless a remake of Chiru for the PS3 sells well (it probably won't).

On the other hand though in Chiru the colored text is weaponized with longswords and Flintlocks and stuff, and other episodes have hardly any red text at all. So in that respect that would probably make it easier to adapt than the first four episodes.

It's been a long while since I post. How's everyone doing?

Anyway, I also don't look forward to an Umineko Chiru however I do wish that want to see it animated at the same time. There would have to be a a company with a large budget to be willing to make the series and I highly doubt that there will be one is is willing to do so especially with the current affairs that's happening now over seas.

I hate to nit pick but this conversation should be moved before anyone gets a lashing about it later...

you don't say 鳴く in relation to wolves, it sounds bizarre.

again, this is not cry with tears (泣く)it's 鳴く which is like the same meaning as like a "cry" or like a song.
putting this on mammals sounds awkward. this verb is supposed to be used for birds and insects and other flying things.

like the famous line

鳴かぬなら鳴かせてみせようホトトギス

so yea, please stop speculating without understanding japanese language.

Isn't it なく so you can't say for sure whether it's 鳴く or 泣く? Unless I missed explanation by Ryu himself.
Google gives 535000 (and yahoo — 1340000) results for 狼のなく.

I'm pretty sure that 鳴く can be used for dogs.

I've heard somewhere (the Higurashi DVD's, I think?) that, much like the word "cry" in English, "なく" can mean either "crying with tears" or "crying as in making noise". Convenient how the languages match up so well like that.

Yes that's what I like about the English and Japanese language.

Visiting after a long while. Why the hiatus? Because at this point, I didn't want to read a roughly translated final episode for Umineko (ATLAS and the stuff). I want to read it with full understanding, so I'm avoiding the forums right now (for months) to avoid getting spoiled.

Anyway, see you sometime.

He should just do away with the when a certain animal cries label anyway, It's not like seagulls were any important in umineko whereas the cicadas added a lot of atmosphere in higurashi.

Spoiler for Overall series themes:

Although I'd agree there's a good chance it won't be an animal next time, just to spite anyone who's trying to guess.

mmmmmm what about frogs. When they cry animals seems to be animals related to places

We have insect of forest and birds related to sea so Rivers animals can be a good idea.

wouldn't that be "when the frogs croak" and not "when the frogs cry"?

No. EP7's patch works only with EP7.

If you patch manually, it can work for EP8 with a little work. It worked fine for me, at least.

first you must switch to japanese local, then insert disc, install game using the installer on disc, then you can switch back to the local you used befor, go to http://witch-hunt.com/stage8.html and chose to download the installer free patch, unrar and put the folder you get inside the installed location.

this is how to patch normaly, havent tried it on ep 8 so aint sure if its enough to get it to work, but atleast its a start.

if you find this hard to follow, try the installation guide inside the installer free patch.
