At least i am glad this isekai anime is properly invested instead of just being another promotional material for the LN. Last season Overlord highlighted how bad that mentality can be.

Some very detailed animation during the Earth segment. A lot more body motion when people were walking, or even just standing still and shifting their weight, than I normally expect from anime. Reminds me of the train episode from Princess Principal.

How he died seemed as weird as a lot of other isekai shows. Some random guy charged at them with a knife, the MC got stabbed, and then the person ran off. Was he on drugs?

Seriously, most of the wishes' translations I get even if they come with some potential drawbacks, but how the heck does "I want to have sex with tons of women" turn into "you can dissolve and store anything"?
It clearly was having some trouble with a few things. Like "wipe my hard drives" turning into electrical resistance.

That's no worse really than turning the idea of being aggressive and what didn't sound far from "having his fill" into a skill that is all about devouring.

In the source that guy was a thief who had stolen someone's bag. The knife was supposedly just to get everyone out of his way.

Translation may be at fault here. That bit from a fan translation of the LN:
Spoiler for predation:
And likewise from the WN, just for completeness:
Spoiler for predation again:

Pretty decent start... though also kinda surprised that they didn't turbo through the early setup stuff. Not that I'm complaining.

I was full of "Meh!", though I did laugh at the tsundere dragon.

The quick snapshots kinda made me mistook this for a SHAFT anime for a moment, but the visuals are really good.

RIP PC HDD, GJ Tamura.

I just hope we don't discover any sick interests responsible for his desperation to have it destroyed without anyone seeing it. I mean, chances are most thirty-something virgins have at least a little porn hidden away here and there, but I'd think it wouldn't normally be anything weird enough or dangerous enough for the guy to be terrified of his friend seeing it.

I was surprised by how strong a premier this was visually, with some very fluid and eye-popping animation and effects. Hope they can keep this up for the rest of the 2-cour .

Satoru is a pretty different take on your typical Isekai protagonist, even before the whole "reincarnated as a slime" thing, being a guy in his 30's who up until this point has actually had a pretty fulfilling life (minus the whole "no girlfriend" thing). So far I think he's been presented as a pretty likeable protagonist, and I'm eager to see him learn more about this world and his abilities as a slime .

It looks like that black-haired girl who was summoned to the other world from World War II-era Japan will prove to be fairly important later on, particularly given her prominence in the opening and what she has in common with our protagonist....

I'm guessing Sawatari is dating/engaged to Tamura and that's what all the rumors at their office were about? It was pretty clear they were together romantically. Although what a relationship memory this will be .

I love how all of Satoru's abilities as a slime were created from his stream of consciousness rambling as he lay dying, only to then end up proving to actually be really useful .

I just read on ANN that the Great Sage's voice was Megumi Toyoguchi. I thought she sounded familiar. And lucky Satoru that he gets to hear her voice on a constant basis .

Tamura's a good Kouhai, staying with his wounded Senpai, fulfilling his Senpai's dying wish (albeit in the most unnecessarily dramatic way possible), and even promising to name his son after Satoru if he ever has one. But that computer totally had porn on it, didn't it ?

A Tsundere dragon. And I thought I'd seen everything .

I think adult virgin working man is second only to the high school boy as an isekai protagonist.

Good impression overall for a starter episode, mc is likeable and seens down to earth kind of guy which i really like.

Its 2 cour series so pacing will be important in here

I'm pretty sure he's first, at least in the current wave of isekai. Re:Zero, Tanya the Evil, Overlord...

Anyway, honestly, I found this premiere pretty dry. Looked nice but most of the episode was just a lot of info-dumping for the sake of explaining why our slime MC is already overpowered from Day 1. Would have been more effective for him to have one simple, well defined but flexible or easily exploited skill and then riff on that as the story progresses. Also, while the tsundere dragon was funny, that dialogue too could have used a bit more snappiness. It just all felt pretty slow and exposition-y.

I hope he's not stupid enough like this guy. That could have killed him.

I just read an interview with the source material author here : https://animeanime.jp/article/2018/10/01/40504_3.html

I find it quite pleasing to read that the Author says he doesn't quite like harems, as I too am the same. And next year we will be getting Magi's Grandson too

is everyone watching this via Crunchyroll? There is something strange about the subtitle in ep 1 here when they use "Verudora" instead of "Veldora", which was used in the PV (Crunchyroll posted it on their youtube channel themselves).
