I don't know much about this show yet, but hey, it seems to be a mainstream heroic war chronicle by Lodoss War author and except for Theo's VA, it has an all-star cast coming up subsequently. And the fact that a Fantasia Bunko fantasy is not done by Zexcs is enough to keep me around |

Siluca is most non generic heroine in recent years Imho . She is practically real protagonist here with Theo as heroine and it works.
Putting that aside both Lodoss and Louie were plenty of generic and both of them were awesome.

Episode 2:
So, they introduced the cat guy this episode. Siluca seems to have a soft spot for the character. First half felt rather boring tbh with just more buildup from some of the recent events. However, I will say the episode gave Aishela a flashy appearance including her personality. I can't take her outfit seriously though. Action was okay. To say the least, Aishela is a capable fighter. I really hope this anime make the viewers understand these characters better.

Aishela voiced by Ueda Rina, a 180% turn from that in-game character in Net-juu.
Aishela is an Artist like Irvin. They use Chaos tattoos to power up themselves. Lords use the power of Cosmos (Law), Artists the power of Chaos while Mages use both (according to the game wiki) but it looks like only Crest bearers can use the power of Cosmos in the novels so the wiki could be wrong or it could be different for the TPRG. Moreno is strong because he's an accomplished swordsman in addition to being a mage. In magic battles alone, Siluca will probably be stronger having master 6 of 7 colors upon graduation. They were actually in a sort of stalemate until Theo came along. Quote:
The most interesting part being the post-credits scene on Vilar. Last edited by larethian; 2018-01-13 at 06:16. |

man probably i'm the only one feeling the "power of rush" on that episode, even without going to compare with the manga i can see a lot of rush and cut here.
I was so hyped by this show because i really love the manga but the "ultra rush mode", is being really painfull for me. they literally burned 9 chapters with more than 20 pages per chapter in 2 episodes, i can understand some chapters could be "boring" but they where important for character development and we learn more about what means be a lord and bla bla bla and some "ship" and better introdction and development for the battle, here they literally turned a really fun battle in something so "simple and cheap"(ok overal in the end was almost the same but many good things where cut from the battle). I'm really getting disappointed not just because i'm already read the source but really the way things where being rushed is really terrible, maybe they are trying to "do the whole story in one single core??? like what they did with inuyashiki and do a "closed end here" otherwise that rush and cut and anticlimax gonna really be bothersome for me.

Anyways, yes, Siluca is quite unique and interesting. They also did a good job with showing that although she may be very capable with her planning and strategies, she, too, is inexperienced just like Theo. Theo is currently following Silica because he knows that he knows nothing and thus is observing, listening, and learning from Silica who had shown she has the brain and capabilities. In turn, Silica is learning from actual experiences and down falls from her plans. Basically both are learning and progressing together. @xrick I think it wasn't 100% proven. Somebody said there is a 90% chance that it's a two-cour but supposedly that Chinese streaming site has been wrong a few times in the past. Basically, it's very likely two-cour but we won't know for sure until it's announced officially.

It's 2 cour
https://youtu.be/NTImy_w2geY?t=1555 And if you watch a bit further down the stream, the producer mentioned it will be continuous (not split). |

wow if it is a 2 cours, why they are rushing things like crazy???, being 2 cour could not need to rush like that unless the novel have many chapters and they are trying to put everything in that "2" cours, because if they had get a "normal pace" 2 chapters per episode could had be good enough to adaptate at last 48 chapters, not burn like 9 chapters in 2 episodes skipping really a lot of things, this serie is not just "war" all the times".

It's only chapter 2 of v1 though. Half of volume 1. Volume 1 is 378 pages which is longer than an average volume. Sure, there are stuff that are condensed, but compared to other adaptations other than series like Rokka no Yuusha which adapted one volume in 12 episodes, it doesn't fare worse at all. Most titles are 3 episodes per volume with the luckier ones getting 4 episodes per volume. They also have a planned target to stop at the end of the 2 cours and the adaptation is done with that in mind probably. There might be also flashbacks concerning how Siluca got selected by Vilar, how Moreno ended up with Rhashik so it might be too early to judge.
edit: I don't know how long the manga chapters are, but on average, one tankoubon volume of manga gets 180 pages and on average 1 volume of manga gets 3-4 episodes as well. |
