Well, I was more interested on the studio that was making this anime, was it ARMS? Because ARMS is famous for producing hentai animes like (my most favourite, possibly one of the best fantasy hentai around) Words Worth.........does this mean this anime is hentai as well?....................................

Err.....uh....aside from that, personally I don't really care about the relationship between Kouta, Nyuu , Yuka etc, etc. Because their relationship is just some plain boring "one guy many girls" anime series that you can find all over the place.

The main reason this anime so rocked IMO because....
1. The awesome Latin opening and music in the anime.
2. The nudity and their talking about reproducing (evil thoughts)
3. And finally, the most important part.....the massive violence and blood plus the suspense thriller.

Aside from all that above, the harem relation part is maybe just a bystander.

the title make sense really. How good is human and elves' relationship anyway ? as in version where human is envious of elves' beauty and power, while the elves look at human as filthy creature hating them.

Don't you think is also wierd that Kouta never mentions or recalls his mother at all?

Maybe she passed away when was so very young that he could not grasp a single trace of memory about her.

Likely she might had passed away after giving birth to Kouta's sister....

Kouta only either mentions or has flashbacks of both his father and little sister, but not of his mother.

I don't really think Kouta's mother has an important role in this anime. The only important role/act she had done was give birth to the main character?

Well, yeah, in harem-type anime there's always the childhood friend who punches the main character a lot, the shy girl, sexy teacher etc...etc... but it's usually the hot alien/android/magic girlfriend that the guy ends up with.

Although Elfen Lied uses some elements from harem-anime it doesn't really fit in that category, so anything could happen. I'm guessing a bunch of characters die in the end, although from what I've heard the anime is only going to cover part of the manga, so who knows...

ARMS used to make hentai shows but more recently they've switch to producing more mainstream anime like Mezzo TV and this show.

Okay now, I hear a lot of you guys mentioning Kurama (glasses dude) saying "Die" during that scene in ep 4, but my copies come out as "Like this"

Which group are you guys using, cause they seem to be probably more accurate.

We saw Kouta holding what seemed to look like Kouta's sister head so I'm going to say.....Bodyless with limbs all over the place. There is no clue how the father died by (lucy) yet.

Spoiler: It's really great to see that Kouta and Yuka appear to be together/have feelings for each other. It's about time the childhood friend got the guy instead of the new sexy girl that comes along(in this case, Nyu/Lucy). xD; Nyu/Lucy is of course my favourite character, though. But I don't think she is in love with Kouta or anything is she? And have you noticed that theres always a childhoodfriend or cousin that likes the main guy and she's always violent in some way? ^^' (Yuka in Elfen Lied, Kirie is Girls Bravo, Mari in Konomini) and the main guy always ends up with the new beauitful girl. o.O! It's not very fair. (although I'm glad Hikari got Takeru in Konomini, I hate Mari.) So yeah, it's nice to see that so far Yuka is getting Kouta. ^^; What you guys think? ^^;

At then Lucy had liked Kouta and overheard the "I like you Yuka" part. I think that was when the angry side of Lucy was first awaken. All dicloinius have one thing or person that they dearly love but when lost or having a thought something would never happen they would get angry. This caused Lucy to kill the sister and father. Lucy was captured, yuka has no idea of the murder but Kouta decided to block out the memory. Current time, IF lucy does find out that Kouta is serious about Yuka I think she would torture Kouta by killing all the love ones (Yuka and soon to be Nana and close friend bando??) then killing him? That's the kind of person Lucy is. o_@ Is the OP single out yet? o_O

With how the camera kept panning into the shadows as if Lucy were watching them in secret. Someone said before that Kouta and Lucy had some kind of conflict over a dog or something in the past, so that and the whole Kouta/Yuka deal may have pushed Lucy to murder Kouta's father and sister. Now, 8 years later, Lucy seems to regret that, though we may not know for sure until later. Anyway, I caught up. So far I really like this series. The camera concentrating on the shadow watching them at a certain angle was something that Lucy had done in the past that got her to kill father and sister.
