When I saw the lilies I immediately thought of the graduation flowers... coincidence? Or maybe that's just me XD
Anyway, this chapter was hilarious so I would be happy if it were in the OVA. But honestly I'd prefer, like many of you, to see Spoiler for chapter:

The logo looks a bit... weird. In the original, the characters are all of the same width: http://www.animekon.com/uploads/2008/12/K-ON-manga.jpg
But hey, not long left now

I've been wondering about this for a while... but do you guys think that K-ON! was inspired from Haruhi?
For me, the first time I see K-ON! picture (the one on the official site's front page). I immediately think that it is Haruhi-themed (ep.12, the music concert) with Lucky Star's drawing style. Those were my first impression. Apparently, the character designer is the same as Lucky Star's . But as the anime went on, I changed my mind about the theme. Around the middle of s2, I started to pay attention to the manga and I accidentally found out that Kakifly-sensei has worked on some Haruhi doujins before. I found them here: http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/index...kakifly&page=3 After seeing that, my initial thought about the series resurfaced again. There are quite some similarities: - The story centers around the club activity, with the members mostly doing nothing. - The cosplay elements.... especially the cosplay music performance. - The tea-serving in the clubroom - 5 people members with some similarities in their appearance, personality, and also roles. For example, Mikuru's appearance and tea-serving role is given to Mugi, while the cosplay victim role and the voluptuous body is given to Mio. Since Haruhi anime aired in 2006, and K-ON! manga started in 2007, I think it kinda makes sense. What do you guys think? Sorry if this has been discussed before ^^;

In my case, I've had it on pre-order since August along with other titles. Heck I even have volume 2 on pre-order. On the subject of shipping, the fun part is volume 1 arrived today. Haven't read it in full yet, but plan to later. Along with some of the manga I got.

Haven't had time to read it cover to cover yet (I bought the two latest Lucky Star volumes as well), but a quick browsing left me very impressed.
I was worried that the color pages would be printed in b&w to save costs, but nope, it's all there. And compared to the aforementioned Lucky Star which sometimes has greyscales that can look a bit muddy, the printing is very clear and nice-looking. The original lettering for sound effects, etc. is mostly left in with unintrusive translations, and the notes in the back seems informative for both newbies and existing fans. The only thing I can complain about at all is the logo, and that's pretty much the least important thing with the whole package Looking forward for the other volumes.
