Soul Eater - Anime General Discussion thread

I got exactly what I expected out of this episode - stunning visuals and action. I know in advance the plot isn't deep and the characters are silly(I like it that way though), but if the first episode is any indication this will be a wild ride filled with great action sequences and plenty of eye candy.

So incredibly cool. It was so different that I immediately hated it then immediately loved it.

This show is.....AWESOME.I was going crazy for the first 5 minutes.When I heard T.M Revolution's voice I was totally sold on the series.I didn't think a show could amaze me as much just with pure animation and energy right from the start.While I still have no idea what is going on, I try to rectify that asap.(>.<)

Hopefully,the series continues at this fast whacky pace because it was one hell of an adrenalin rush I had.As for episode 1,I would rate it 9/10.Not perfect because well..I can't make out any coherent plot yet so I'll have to wait and see.

There wont be any plot for the first 3 episode as its just introductory episode for all 3 main groups.. Real story development starts with ep 4.

Hm. Was Kishin egg mentioned in the manga? As I recall it was just evil souls.
Maybe it's all just a lot clearer in color...

Nope, any instance of "human" was either taken out or replaced with "Kishin egg."

I love it that BONES had been following the manga and the extra stuff they added were nice. And it would be lovely if they make Soul x Maka more obvious xD Squeee xD

I expect the excaliber episode will render some good gifs which will proabably be about episode 9 or 10, as funny as excaliber was i just hope he doesn't make a reacurring apearance.

New to the series, though i was wondering what manga readers would recommend --- do you think i should just stick with the anime weekly, or just go read what i can with the manga before then?

I'm just wondering what you guys thing is best. I'm welcome for either option.

So will Soul Eater get a subforum? Also why isn't Black Star getting any love, the guys like a cross between the best parts of Kamina and Naruto(mostly appearance)! He's made of win!

Does anyone know if this series is set for around 50 episodes? ANN said it's set for 13 episodes, but I heard the producers said 50.

Oh BTW, Square Enix has announced Soul Eater: Monotone Princess for the Wii

In my opinion, if you want to fully enjoy the series and eyecandy in anime, it's better for not reading the manga yet. The manga is awesome with likeable characters. However having already read the manga, somehow when I watched the 1st episode the 'omph' factor just didn't kick in, but it's still enjoyable nevertheless with few changes.

But hey it's just me. Maybe the others have other inputs.
