Some things were of course cut but mainly it was all very rushed. They cut Ash standing on his own 2 feet at the party after Blanca told him he wasn't employed by Golzine anymore. Ash started talking to Golzine and receiving the other guests who were congratulating him on his "inheritance" and becoming Aslan J. Golzine as a distraction as he was planning his own escape (all of this being predicted by Blanca who was observing him). Then in a show of power to Dino, Ash proved that he wasn't as weak as believed and he stood on his own 2 legs just as all hell broke loose. So at least in the manga, we're told he wasn't as weak as people thought and he did get more downtime in the sewers resting than the anime showed.

A new enemy shows up, and Ash apparently gets captured again. It's starting to get old, so I hope he actually has a back-up plan.

Yep, it's good move. This means the epilogue won't be a separate OVA released weeks or months afterwards.

The super fast pacing cutting out important things (Ash paying Shorter's sister Nadia a visit to give her closure about Shorter since lots of rumors going on about Ash murdering Shorter) and generally cramming lots of things into one episode really hurts the series IMO. Nadia was completely cut from the anime save for the one scene where Eiji first saw her. This series deserved at least 39 episodes.

Maybe you are both being facetious about the term "pedophile" just to have an excuse to roll your eyes here but Ash is at least 18 (he was 19 by this point in the manga). Pedos don't have sex with people of legal age. Just saying.

If Eiji really is dead then that would redeem what was an otherwise rubbish episode. Its unfortunate how repetitive this show became. There were two big things about this show: Banana Fish the drug and the boy known as Ash Lynx. The latter has been woefully stupid and repetitive (and often comical), but I would overlook that because the story about the former was interesting. At least until we found out what it was and then it ceased to be grounded in reality before reaching an early dead end with Shorter. That's when I felt like the show lost its way. I wanted to like this show but now there's way too much crap for me to overlook. I only hope the finale can be it's saving grace.

And this is where you're a bit off the mark. One, a pedophile is just someone who is sexually attracted to children. Meaning you can be a pedophile, (sexually attracted to children), but not be a child molester/rapist, or someone who physical has sex with or sexually molests children.

And yes you can be a pedophile and still have sex with adults. Being a pedophile doesn't preclude someone from also being attracted to adults, or having sex with one.

I'll use an example, a certain famous mangaka of a popular samurai manga was charged with possession of child pornography, that would make him a pedophile, this person was also married.

That was a good episode, particularly the Blanca and Yut Lung scenes. Blanca is a really great guy, at least as far as hitmen are concerned. If only he had followed his heart since the start, Ash wouldn't have had to go through all the recent crap.

The Blanca and Yut Lung scene that takes place right before Blanca leaves to join Ash was a well done one. It's nice that Blanca joined Ash, I'm sure that Ash would have appreciated his help far earlier.

I don't know if Eiji would be killed off (aside from considering that I've heard much about the manga before the anime adaptation was made).

If anything, my money's on Ash anyway.

That is true yet there was nothing in the series to suggest that Colonel Foxx is a pedophile like he was accused of being by 2 posters here. It just seems like people are making up reasons to complain about a show they are already tired of and should just stop watching it already. "Oh God, more of the same kind of villain doing villain things like rape". I wonder if Ash was a female character if there would be so much complaints sometimes.

You know, I’m really annoyed by the trope, when an injured character just casually bleeds to death, while doing some staff. If you have time go to the library and die there (and why would you do that, think about people, who work there or simply came to read a book. You probably scarred them for life, you Arse), then you have the time to stop (or at least slow down) the bleeding and call the ambulance.

The episode was only 8 minutes longer than a regular episode. They didn't even skip the OP.

Spoiler for Ending:

I don't know how to feel about this ending. It just felt really stupid to have Ash let himself slowly bleed to death when he had apparently found the resolve to be with Eiji after reading his letter. He survived worse than that, he could have been saved if he fucking asked for help. But I guess getting stabbed in itself proved him his initial decision was correct after all and it was better this way.

I wish Ash could have gotten a happy ending. I understand wanting to stay away from Eiji, but he should have taken up Blanca on his offer. He deserved peace after everything he went through.

I didn't care much about Yut Lung. He really was just driven by hatred and jealousy after all. A rather pitiful man. But maybe he'll get better with Sing's help, who's a really good guy.

Max got the best end. Married again with his top tier wife (where did she learn to fight so well? Holy shit).

A pretty good series overall, its main flaw was its repetitiveness. Main strength were its characters.
