Okay so if this were Tekken x Street Fighter then sure I can see this making sense (sort of), but since it's a main entry in the Tekken series (supposedly) why introduce foreign characters & elements from a different franchise and possibly cluster-screw the established main plot and lore?

Eh it is Tekken, which have been on a crazy side of the plot for awhile. Having AKuma is so badass though, makes the game lot more hype. Beforehand I had little interest in this game, but now I give a damn.

And overall, the game looks lot better now with better lighting.

So Akuma from Street Fighter made a deal with Kazuya's mom to kill her husband if he ever get corrupted.

Ok, i'm getting very confused on how the two franchises can exist in the same universe.

I think you're taking the story a little too seriously

No I just think It's kinda out of left-field, especially since the teaser leads us to believe that Akuma is going to (try) to kill Heihachi on Kazumi's behalf which seems like a major thing. It would be like saying Vader, Yoda, and Starkiller were canon and killed the bosses of Soul Calibur IV. I just find it to be a strange decision story-wise and wonder how it will affect the plot of future Tekken games (because it will affect it).

If, and it is a big IF, this is the final story about Heihachi's family, then it would not have long term consequences if we no longer focus on them in future stories. You only assume this has long term effects if you think the family would still be the main focus in future titles.

Yeah, it wouldn't be right if the supposedly finale of the story would be wrapped up by an outsider but well, I guess we could only wait on how Akuma will be handled.

Anyways, some direct-feed screenshots of the new outfits and stages:

According to Harada, it's not only the graphics, but the models were improved as well.

Ok...So Akuma > Heihachi and Kazuya I dig it...though it doesn't really fit the storyline.

But as I recall Harada wanted Ryu, Ken, Akuma and Dan to be in Namco and he jokingly said he'll make Dan more powerful

Akuma vs the devil gene, sure, I dig it...but how is this even going to work? I haven't played TxSF, but they're two completely different games, with Tekken relying on chain combos and counters while SF relies on specials + canceling in order to pull off combos...not to mention attack range, supercharging, SUPER bars, sidestepping and destroy moves (well, not GG style, but stuff like Paul's straight punch that takes off ~85% HP).

Supposedly the Akuma angle is for Japanese Arcades only (for now), and nobody knows whether he's going to be ported to console or not at this time so like as not he'll probably be a non-issue.

the bride getup kinda reminds me of Aya Brea in The 3rd Birthday

AFAIK, there'll be T7FR location test in Japan from 12th to 14th February.

An exhibition match between Nobi (Dragunov), and Tokido (Gouki/Akuma) at JAEPO. At first I was skeptic about having Akuma retaining his SF mechanic, but after seeing this match, hey it works well! it also adds quite a variety to the system.

Nobi is the current top player in Japan, as he won the King of Iron Fist Tournament last year. I don't know anything about SF, but from what I gather Tokido is a well-known Akuma veteran, and he was also a competitive player of Bob in Tekken 6.

Although at my skill level... I think I'll see a lot of plays like this

T7FR will be released approximately in summer this year (arcade)... so probably still need to wait longer for console release.
