Episode 1:
Hmm, I think the first episode was rather strange. I think it was aiming at mystery and horror with the zombie themes but what I got is more of the action with a semi-thrilling feel. The main girl is the badass while the guy feels more like he's standing on the sidelines. The story feels kinda boring though, I hope it expands on its ideas more beyond just the zombie fighting.

As for the graphics, I am quite glad that it does not have the sickeningly cheap and old looking palette used in the Legend of the Condor Heroes and Reikanzan adaptations. |

The thing with this one, the main character talks to himself too much. It's seriously weird. Every step of the way he's basically breaking the 4th wall and talking to the viewers to try and cram as much of an explanation to the story as he can into the 21-ish minutes of showtime. Every step of the way explaining his thought process for doing everything or what he is thinking. Out loud. In most animes the character would be thinking to himself in about 70% of the dialog scenarios present in this episode, yet he says every word out loud which makes most of what he says just sound weird and childish. I think that style of dialog writing was the only thing about this show that single handedly makes me want to drop it right away.

Oh, sorry. I know that and I didn't mean he actually breaks the 4th wall, it's just the feeling I got listening to his style of monologue was that he was expecting someone to be listening, which is why I personally feel it pushes the inner monologue a bit too far.
Actually I've been wondering about that too. I didn't think a cultural difference present in the source would manifest in such a way but I'd be curious to compare it with other anime from a similar background to see. Either way I'm kinda hoping that it won't happen as much now that he's introduced into a setting where he will have more people around him and it'll become increasingly unnecessary.

Three episodes into it and it looks good, although the premise is quite the usual "Clueless guy enters the Hidden Martial Arts world"... The only thing I find a little annoying is the main character, but I've seen worst, so I guess he's still within acceptable levels. Ultimately I think the way they deliver the story will determine whether it turns out well or it just becomes another generic martial arts anime.
If someone has a little more details of the characters backgrounds and relations it would be greatly appreciated. I was looking around for this Manhua but I guess it's not very well know in the west.
