The only good reason I can think of for Chihiro to hook up with his cousin is because she is still alive, while Rea is already dead and most likely unable to produce offspring, should they choose to want any and she can be preserved to last a lifetime.

It's crystal clear since the beginning. It's hard to find anime without some harem element.
When Furuya mentions Rea's name, it bothers Wanko. Wanko looks after Furuya since the childhood. She makes the frequent visit and borrows zomibe video. However, she shows no interest. Her intention is going to be fruitless.
The current story is open for many fan made fiction. Furuya's mother is missing. Is she relatd to that mysterious manuscript? Due to the old age, Furuya's grandfahter suffers the memory loss. Yet, he mentions the name for an unknown female name. Perhaps, it is the name related to Wanko.

Zombies are portrayed as decaying pieces of flesh, not the right option if you think about procreation.

Vampires are portrayed as life like beings (specialy after feeding, which if posible they do daily) some authors have portrayed them as having offspring, but it NEVER is human offspring.

Just extract the eggs before they rot and there you go. Although the baby would still technically be human.

In this particular scenario the eggs are already riff with the zombie poison so it is a no go.

Ranko really makes me want to start punting babies off of the tops of skyscrapers or something. She's annoying as hell. I'm like, "That's your COUSIN. Even if Rea never existed, you STILL couldn't tap that." I know her reasoning behind it story-wise (I got curious and read most of the manga in one night), but still! And I don't care how yummy her breasts may be!

Unless she's just trolling to the max because she has nothing better to do.
