FLCL - Definitely ton's of parody on famous anime, but are you knowledgeable enough? On top of that, its plot seems too deep for the commoner to understand. One of the most amazing works to ever be created, but you must qualify for it. Do you dare take up this challenge now, or train yourself in more shows so that you'll be able to absorb more parodies?
Not only must you be able to identify a parody visually, you must be able to know a parody by art srtyle, hear a parody and even recognise a parody by numbers. That's how FLCL plays with their numerous references in just 6 episodes.

Hayate no Gotoku. Insane amount of references, homages and parodies. It's a great show, and has an impressive 52 episodes to boot.
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei also has its fair share. Its dark humor ranges from subtle to laugh-out-loud hilarious.

Highschool Girls - an interesting skit to MoSH, Maria-Sama ga Miteru, Ouran Highschool Host Club, etc. Almost every opening is a parodic reference to other anime series, as a whole - a wink to ecchi fanservice and heavy usage of typical female characters in formations.
Oh, and my impression of Tower of Druaga is that it was making fun of standard shounen plots and characters. |

true, PPD parodies like everything ever, but it parodies enough popular tihngs that it should still be fun. After all, the op liked lucky star which did it's fair share of obscure parodies (personal 2 favorite parodies in whole show were Initial D and Marimite)

@Excel Saga: Great parody series, but it's from 1999. If you don't know 90s anime you're screwed.
@Genshiken: lulz, this isn't so much about parodies of specific anime as it is about anime as a whole and occasional throwbacks to specific anime, though most of the time it's Gundam. |
