Need for Speed Underground 2

Anyone else dying to get this game?

I know the first game got mixed reviews, some people liked it, some people didn't saying it strayed too far from the nfs series. Like it or not, the sequel is expected to be released this year. Based on the previews, videos, images, etc, i absolutely can't wait for this game to come out. This game is going to have over 30 licensed vehicles from the LanEvo 8 (lancer evolution) to the Ford Focus. The course is going to be complete, and by complete I mean, everywhere you see road you can drive. And a MASSIVE city that you can travel around. You can tune specific parts of the car, or chose from premade kits. Tons more vinyls and graphics, and a huge array of customization options.

if this has sparked your interest in any way, check out

for full details.

P.S. I could have just left to "Meh," but the idiotic rules won't let me!

I didn't really like this game, the customization is cool, but it's too fake. I can't wait till Gran Turismo 4 is released!

i was talking about nfs underground 2, the sequel to nfs underground. So it is impossible to have this game yet as it won't be released till the end of this year.

I seen some of those screen shots, and the game looks very unrealistic. One good point that proves me correct is how far the light extends from the headlights. Light doesn't go that far out from a headlight and it looks so bullshit!

Gran Turismo is what a true racing game should be like.

I agree, the graphics in grand turismo are the most realistic graphics of any car game so far. In EGM.. they compared a real picture of a race car to one of GT4, it was hard to tell the difference.

GT is a great game, but it doesn't have the customization aspects like nfs underground. Also, GT is a pro racing style game, with tracks you have to stick to, that are all pretty much the same. NFSU/2 is a STREET racing style, where there are actually obstacles, and takes alot more skill to race. You can drive up alleys, through restraunts, etc. The cars aren't meant to look realistic, if they were, they would have alot less color. Graphics wise (not talking about cars) they are just as good as GT. You get good lighting effects, cool special effects, such as motion blur at high speeds, and I think is alot more fun than GT. The new NFSU2 will have alot more customization, better tracks, and more to do, so I'm looking forward to NFSU2 more than GT4. GT4 just seems too much like its 3 predesesors.

Need For Speed Underground 2

I was wondering if any of you have downloaded the demo off of the EA Games website. I just downloaded it last night and I must admit that this game is definately amazing and is way more improved in pretty much all aspects of the game.

I'd have to say though my favorite part about the demo was the Downhill Drift. I read the description of the game before the demo came out and I didn't remember anything about drifting downhill. There were new team drift/drift against 3 other people modes that were mentioned, but not this. Once I hit up the race, it was seriously fun drifting through traffic while trying to be like Takumi from Initial D. I can see it now, loads of people with the call sign... Takumi, Initial_D, Takahashi, or "clubs" with the names Redsuns, Speed Stars, Project D, and so on. Oh yeah, and they'll have AE86s as well.

Anyways, I'm really looking forward to this game, but I do have one question. What version should I get my online excitement out of... the PS2 or the PC version? Graphics are negligible because my computer can handle its own. Thanks.

I can get the PS2 or PC version, but that would really depend on offline play. I have a freind who loves racing games and play on the PS2. But if solo go for the PC version since it could better, quicker, and could put addons or mods in it if possible.

i just hope the sequel isn't as mindnumbingly repetitive as the first one.

I just played the demo as well. Took tour around the city and a few quick races and I love it already. As for drifting in NFSU 2 compared to Initial D, I'd say drifting in NFSU 2 seems harder than Initial D. I actually have to coordinate braking, turning, and acceleration (and gears, if you're driving manual) in order to start drifting in NSFU 2 (in addition to the drifting course, I was practicing drifting in that 3 consecutive hairpin turns in the city). In Initial D, however, you just turn and the game just drifts the car for you. I turned the "stabilize car" option off, and drifting was a bit easier. But then again, I'm driving with my keyboard, as I don't have a wheel ...I'm planning to get a Logitech Momo real soon (any other recommendations for wheels?). When the full games come out, I'm gonna hit the drift style courses hard and often . It'd be cool if they "borrowed" some maps from Initial D (Iroha Slope = awesomeness).
