She doesn't have to fight or beat the sh*t out of the villains, but she could have tipped the scales to Ichigo's favour(by taking advantage of the "free pass" Ulqiorra gave her for example) by interfering at one point. Yes, she healed him, put up a shield so he didn't fell down the dome,.. but that wasn't significant enough to me because in the end it was still Ichigo's one-man-show which overthrew Ulqiorra. And thanks to that Orihime had no character development at all imo!

Ehm no, as long as her Kurosaki-kun is around..

So after all only Ishida earned cool points in my book. Ichigo had no idea what happened after he got ceroed -> he didn't learn anything new.. so his next fight better starts off with someone blasting a big hole in his chest

All she can do is play the damsel-in-distress card. Thats it.

You dont have to be at the highest power level to be useful in a series. Other female characters in other series who are basically leagues behind their opponents manage to do something pretty cool to the viewers eyes.

Well, if you think about it Ulquiorra is not particularly evil he seems just like the dragon who is forced to obey. Also she might think he should have redemption after saving both her, Ishida and Ichigo making her think he also has a heart. Also Ulquiorra just died of Lelouch sydrome: Cold and calculating but then the world throws him a WTF?! Moment just as everything is going exactly to his plan then after that he has those last few dying words than in a way show redemption like Lelouch's: I am Zero, I destroy worlds and I create worlds.
