^ That makes me wonder what the rules about ramming enemy tanks in senshado are. The Maus is more likely to flatten enemy tanks like a monster truck than ram persay though.. I don't know how the carbon lining is going to fix that..

I wonder what the rules are about defeated teams climbing up on ultra slow moving enemy tanks and tossing out the crews of such tanks.

While the History team's Stug was definately tracked and set on its side, its flag didn't pop like the Char B1bis did.

And to be fair to Miho's team chasing down the Panzer III...they know quite well that the rest of Black Forest Team is a long ways away. They could only possibly have two tanks in the area. They could see the Panzer III. They had seven of their own tanks present. There isn't a lot that could stop them. Even another Jadgtiger or Tiger II wouldn't be impossible with their Tiger (P) and various 75mm cannon armed tanks.

But, not enough to realistically win (with two caveats) against the odds they are facing.

Black Forest has enough tanks to make a full Panzerkeil formation (the Panzer formation Erwin referred to in episode 2) which they did at the end and that is even not counting two Black Forest tanks elsewhere including a freeking working Maus.

While it was a strong episode I did have an issue with the rules allowing for a team to hide its tanks elsewhere. If that was the case then Oarai should have done the same instead of placing all their tanks in an open field to start off with as it was pure dumb luck that the tank gamers managed to save the day in episode 10 by hitting the reverse at just the right time.

Though my bigger issue was Erwin as a tank commander proved super inept and worthless this issue. She is supposed to be the expert on WW2 of team Oarai and she lets her subordinates try to engage (rather then order a strategic retreat) against a tank that any German WW2 history buff even at the high school level should know a few basics about... that though never mass produced the Maus is a tank that is certainly very much impenetrable by the weapons they have on hand. I know what her name sake would be thinking if he was watching that while his favorite military song Panzerlied was playing.



As for team Oarai they no longer have the tanks on hand to win even resorting to guerrilla tactics short of getting a very lucky long range shot in that kills the flag tank or unless team Hippo is allowed by the rules to commandeer the Maus.

All they need to take out the flag tank is the Tiger (P). Everything else aside from the Panzer IV can be used as a distraction to get the Tiger (P) into firing range against Black Forest's Tiger I.

By the time the episode actually gets translated, you people are going to have discussed this to death and not be willing to even entertain the question any more, so even though I haven't and don't watch raws I'd better ask this now.

Why field a Maus? Seriously? The heaviest superheavy tank ever made? Just the stuff they already had was hardcore overkill against Oarai. Properly used it would have been all but impossible for Oarai to get through the firepower already on display to reach to flag tank. Obviously Miho would have had to trick them into not using it properly to win, but that's beside the point. There was no need to bring in a monster like that!

That was one of my two caveats though with the number of tanks they have on hand one would need a very lucky shot or major stupidity on the part the opposing team to make it happen. When you have that many tanks lets just say for a competent team it should be very easy to protect the flag tank.

Maho's been watching Miho's team since the games started and of course knows her as family. Miho's defeated overwhelming odds before and managed to keep out of being destroyed by superior tanks long enough to get the job done. So how do you defeat someone like that? Overkill.

And do what St. Glorianna did...have a tank they can't normally take out involved.

Plus there was what Miho did in the fight with St. Glorianna, used terrain to her advantage. What better way to screw that plan up that to have something completely unexpected waiting for her their. Thus a Maus ready for action is town. ust in case Miho manages to evade Erika's horde.

Though I get the impression that Black Forest Peak's Team is full of freshmen tankers, and that since they have to go from 10 to 15 to 20 tanks, most of them might not be "battle trained" or even tested outside of formation driving.

Meta-wise, to ramp up the already significant levels of drama. As a previous post already noted, Ooarai's teams were already outnumbered AND outgunned, so adding an almost unstoppable monster like this (which just screams FINAL BOSS material) is just icing on an already deliciously tense cake.

In-universe, there are a lot of signs that Shiho's gone "all-in" in trying to prove that her youngest daughter is WRONG. Hence the late-war heavy TDs and tanks.

Yes. If you count four tankers by every tank, you get at least 80 members needed for the final, so the quality of every tank has to be unequal.
