As I understood it it was becasue the papers that are gettign filled are of serious nature and are not to be toyed with.
On the other hand whenever I sign some papers an they ask me about my nationality I write "Terran". So it's ok I guess. |

As long as your doctor isn't professor Oak, there isn't really a risk that what you wrote on a piece of paper will negatively affect your health.
These kind of documents are mainly made to be compiled for insurance purposes and so on. So what you'll actually risk by not writing your biological sex is to trigger a few bureaucrats.

You kids realize that all this information on these papers still have to go onto a computer, right? Whatever programs they use aren't going to have fifty different entries for a male/female check box or the like. Fucking with their databases only makes it harder for shit to get done in a bureaucracy, which only makes it harder for their clients to get what they need done with these companies.
