Manga Shy is apparently getting an anime adaptation by studio 8Bit.

Synopsis

Just as the planet approached its third World War, individuals with superpowers appeared from around the globe to maintain peace. They became the symbols of their respective nations, striving to limit crime and bring evildoers to justice. Teenage heroine Teru "Shy" Momijiyama is Japan's representative in the world of heroes. When a mysterious threat called Amalareiks emerges, Shy must work together with her fellow heroes to stop them at all costs.

It's not. There's no school for heroes as one example. The main character doesn't look up to the best hero, and is already one, but her struggles are tied in part in trying to feel in the shoes of the hero she took the place of.

So, watched the first episode of this and it was... merely ok. There wasn't a ton particularly wrong with it. The art is fine. It's maybe a bit light on animation but not overly so. It had a few comic book flourishes like panel transitions.

It's just...

- It all felt a bit rushed. Maybe I'm just coming off my Frieren high of a 4 episode introduction, but I felt this concept and character would have benefitted from at leasta Vivy style 2 episode long opener.
- More broadly, it felt a bit contrived. Suddenly heroes and world peace? Shy is Japan's only hero? She has only been a hero for about three months? She didn't check up on the girl she thought she'd injured? The little brother was gonna run into the burning building and do what, exactly?

Instead of being "dang, I can't wait for the next episode", I'm more of the "I hope the next episode or two showcase more of the show's strengths that I hope it has..."

Again, not terrible... but nothing that super wowed me, either.

I loved the chapter, but I was expecting the girl to cheer up shy and not the little brother for her to make her comeback, in the end she saved everyone.

I think the little brother doing it is not that bad either.
As the sister was basically like a hero herself, as she focused on others being saved over herself.

Hrm, I was kind of annoyed the whole time at the MC. Straight 8/10 on the Shinji Ikari scale so far. One more episode to see if that is the whole of her personality.

Pretty sure that the appearance of people with superpowers would make WW3 happen even faster and be even deadlier, not everyone that gains them would be good, this premise sounds either very fishy and/or very undercooked.

Ohh, Xenoblade 2's Aegis' seiyuu. She's good.

Anyways, it wasn't exactly a great first episode. The animation was pretty nice and the characters are cute, but the story was lackluster.
In the first place, the setup for the plot of the first episode wasn't intriguing. No one would invite her to talk if she's like this. The roller coaster's movement doesn't really make sense and Shy getting blamed for such movement makes even less sense. You've already lost the audience here.

Anyways, let's hope it is just the introduction and the story gets a bit smarter from here. Like I said, everything other than the story was okay. It's not Narou, not a sequel, not generic slife-of-life. That's incredible in itself for some reason

I can't say much on the other stuff, but I would say that I can easily see people blaming her for not being able to save someone's life if something like that happened in real life, especially with how toxic South Korean & Japanese Social Media is, which had already costed suicides by multiple artists and performers so far, and even forcing Japanese Govt. to recently pass laws in order to hold those toxic people accountable if their statements on social media harms a person in someway.

shy getting blame is the most realistic thing, is a common thing now in 2023. Nobody cares about the good things, social media only focus in ruinning lives and problems.
