No idea, but I would compare it instead with the socialist goverment of Hugo Chavez in Venezuela; both countires have huge oil reserves, but due to bad management went bankrupt. Germany managed to put their economy back on track and started wwII, Russia will become the new north korea, which is in no position to wage war by itself (but sable rattles all the time).

The message is clear, putin does not want people in the warner group to harbor any hope that their leader is going to return. No doubts the process of asimilating them into the MOD is already starting. As for showing the body, after such crash it is highly unlikely in one piece or easily recognizable. Heck, if he has the devil's luck and somehow survived, I bet FSB agents were dispatched to the area to make sure he stays dead.

The manga I'm talking about (titled The Ride-On King, by the author of Karate Shoukoushi Kohinata Minoru) is very literally based on that barechested horseriding Putin meme...except that in the series he's riding a tiger...which he uses to go to work and has his own parking spot.

And, yes, to be fair, he's president of a fictional Slavic country that gained independence sometime in the near future, but there is no room for doubt as to which real-life person his character is based on.
