i like zero, i think his character is quite admirable. considering zero's past, its a wonder he didn't grow up to become a violent psychopath. i mean for cripe's sake, if your family gets murdered, your twin brother betrays you, and you turn into that same monster which destroyed your family...what do you expect?

but zero by sheer force of will tried to keep his vampiric instincts in check for four years...even kaname was impressed by that fact. though he really really hates vampires to his very guts, he manages to act civil around them, and only gets violent if he feels they're threatening yuuki or other humans. its also worthwhile to note that zero never desired to suck anybody else's blood but yuuki's -- IMHO, that betrays his unspoken desire/love for yuuki more than anything else.

i'm really looking forward to seeing Zero in total vampire hunter kick ass mode... those 3 pureblood strains in him should count for something other than raising his level above Level E!

I think not only zero have a sad past !! even kaname have it + he maybe
suffer more than him !

since he hide his feelings ..etc it's doesn't mean that he don't suffer or don't
have a worse past like zero ..

for me I saw both of them alike !!

when they were kids their families were killed !!
kaname been revived by rido and we don't know how or when ... we still
don't know more about his past ...even his curse ..

they both of them lose something very important to them .. when the were kids ..
so tell me now .. whats the deferent between zero and kaname ?

why kaname stand up and achieve all this things ??
even thought he's suffer and saw the one he loves died in fronts of him !!

he leave yuuki with the chairman just to make her far away from danger and
to live like a human !! also to do a lots of things for her Sake and for the other
vampires just like the chairman thinks ...

he loves Yuuki more than anything and yet he can't be near her just to be sure that she live a peaceful life ...

ok zero lose his family and his brother did betray him .. but I think that he is
a lucky one when he live with yuuki and the chairman as a family ..

so he can at least think and snap out of it ..and get back to realty !!
these things at least make him refresh his mind and do something
for himself and his new family ...

till now we see him emo and weak !!
I only see kaname think for him and did what he did ..

so in the end zero will gain a power for free !!
yeah kaname said I'll take Yuuki and make you kill rido , you won't betray
her ..

but I think that he have some plans ..since his face show his sadness ..
that's make us all thinks that kaname curse means death by killing rido ..

so he did what he did for zero and Yuuki ...and gave zero a power
that he didn't even dream of and also for free ...

that's what I think for now , till we see more ch and details ...
I really hope nothing from this happens ...

and I tell you what's bother me that Hinro focus only on zero forgetting
the others characters ... it's still confusing and we don't know to much
about them ...

thats why the readers say zero zero zero and sympathy him ..
I don't hate him , I only hate his acts and weakness <_<
so I really hope that we see a good ending , that will answer our Questions ..

and still I doubt that will happens ...sorry I was carried away @@"

altho i do have a distinct preference for zero ( i do so love conflicted heroes very much) i do really love kaname's enigmatic character.

kaname is integral to the storyline, and his hidden agendas and his unapologetic way of getting what he wants really makes the story that much more compelling to read

IMHO, yuki would better grow as a character if she'd choose zero tho. if she's with kaname, she will always be overwhelmed by kaname's strong and overprotective personality, but with zero, you can really see how yuuki struggles to rise beyond her fears in order to be there for zero.

as I said before ... they just alike ..

and about Yuuki .. form what we see now I think she will chose zero
cus she care for him + he was with her for a long time now ..

also kaname aware that yuuki have a feelings for zero and even if she
choose him I don't think he will do something ...

cuz all this time kaname have the power to kill zero if he want but still he
didn't ....

and yes yuuki do feel thats she still a child if she stays with kaname ..
but since she knows her past now , no one know what will happens ..

for me I got bored for the same ending ... the girl choose the other guy
who is suffer ..etc

I really wish to see another ending , that's what I meant from the beginning ..

we want something els ..hope Hino sensai show us something new XD

when will zero get a break? his life has been one hell after another. It is not like he wanted to be a vampire in the first place. I mean, most people would had committed suicide from half the stuff this guy went through. I hope he will have his 15 minutes of fame. Then all this pain and suffering will be well worth it.

AMEN to that! As for Zero's 15 minutes of fame, I'm entertaining a theory that VK anime/manga is all about Zero... I mean the title is vampire "knight" and not vampire "prince" or vampire "princess"

Quite true w/ that. The manga is more focused on Zero poor Kaname is just always on the side all the time always being all jelous; mad and all that.

I agree with that theory.
Everyone says it's both Kaname and Zero but I believe Zero is the knight.

There's this other theory that I heard that Vampire Knight is like the chess pieces.

Kaname and Yuki are the King and Queen.
Zero is the knight.
Aidou and Ichijou can be the bishops[or maybe rooks???] of Kaname[and Yuki]
Kain,Ruka,Shinki and Rima can be rooks [or maybe bishops???]
The other vampires...the pawns??

Gah,probably someone organized this thought already and I have it all wrong.
I just thought of this from the top of my head.

I think it's pretty obvious that Zero will end up with Yuuki. Just ask yourself which character have developed more in the course of the story, Kaname or Zero? Kaname doesn't have any character development, while Zero had plenty. I would be really pissed if Kaname wins in the end as he doesn't have a shred of personality.

when will yuuki realize that? it is sad to see someone who is as strong-willed and energetic as Yuuki to be controlled an evil vampire who like to toy with other people's lives.

It's clear to me he will get a break at the end of this manga when he gets paired with Yuuki.

he was forced to awake yuuki , cuz he knows if he didn't do it , rido will take her away and everything their Parents and kaname did will go away ...

yeah, i think she was relapsing anyways, and for her own good, it was better to turn her back than to keep her naive.

Well Kaname was probably planning to always bring her back, just at a later time when they were older. Yuuki was and still is his fiancee.

I don't remember which chapter it was, but I thought I read that Kaname was thinking to himself to restrain until she was older when Yuuki was in his arms.

The Rido incident probably just changed his mind to do it earlier than he had hoped/expected to.

I don't know if Kaname knew about his parents wish for Yuuki to be human at that time when they were young (before their parents' deaths), and he probably doesn't agree with their wish since he has always yearned for her.

He didn't want to tell her about her past or awaken her. He wanted her safe and happy. But gradually Kaname is relaizing
that he can't protect her against everything. I think this was an important development for Kaname. His reason for give
her her memory back wasn't for himself it was for her.

because Yuuki is too freakin' nosy (That's why I hate shoujo female leads; also shonen romances. ) . Well I guess any individual would be curious about their past. And add to that that Rido has awaken and aiming Yuuki. So her vampire powers would come in handy if ever the situation calls for it.
