"You can never have enough despair", is what the new Comet chapter will be published under.

Assuming I ever get it done. I really try! It's like, 80% finished.

...unless, I just copied the other part of latest chapter, and left the first part on my harddrive to get wiped when I installed Windows 8.

Also, this not being spoiler, Lunatheresia is Yuuya's second "Comet cannon" ex.

There's not a single track from the Unicorn OSTs that I'm not absolutely crazy over (or the Guilty Crown OSTs, also by Hiroyuki Sawano. )

I'm thinking of handling all these awesome music suggestions with a music option during a special combat scene. You may recall just prior to the second coup, in ch 44 Shirogane leads Valkyrie Platoon A and a group of Rookies to reinforce the Osaka Defense Line (culminating in rescuing Tama as she shields civilians). The rookies get a bit of an intro in ch 43, but not much other than a support role in ch 44's combat. I was thinking of elaborating on it by having Shirogane interact with them after taking command of their unit. Rookies in fubukis, heading to their first contact with BETA, are obviously nervous as hell; Shirogane has to find a way to get them to calm down if they're going to have any chance regarding their "8 minutes of death". The rookies weren't exactly fawning over Takeru in ch 43, but they definitely seemed in awe of his reputation and where asking all sorts of questions about those wild rumors regarding his secret origins.

So Takeru comes up with a means of tricking the rookies into calming down and gaining some confidence for the upcoming battle. He reveals the "secret" to his incredible abilities; a new kinda of "combat hypnosis" that he has been testing as part of a super-soldier experimentation program; and audio injection of HOT BLOOD and COURAGE. He opens a secure channel with the cadets while connecting his comm unit's auxiliary input with the headphone jack of his gameguy, and the player is given a choice of what audio to load (perhaps even an option to search directories for your own mp3 files, but then again you could just mute the game and load your own mp3 player.) The music from Shirogane's world is completely alien to the rookies, as their radios mostly just play propaganda themes or pre-BETA classics. They're so distracted by the new music that they completely forget their fear and start syncing to the rhythm while in battle, allowing them to get past their 8 minutes of death. This battle would lead right into A Platoon cresting the hill and reinforcing C Platoon in Osaka.

Any other music suggestions for that scene ?

Really, anything by Sabaton is also good, albeit it has a tendancy to cause Manly Tears at the same time. Standouts that I'd suggest would be 40:1, Ghost Division, Panzer Battalion.

Dragonforce is also good: I'd suggest Fury of the Storm, one of my personal favorites.

It looks like paulxion_sensei plans to focus on the side characters of TE rather than the main cast. Giving them more spot light than the one usually seen.

There's two ways of describing the situation on Earth right now that would be good way introduce my tale. On one hand, I could go into this long, rather epic description of humanity's survival against this relentless alien menace, about how this heroic tale of struggle and perseverance has been raging on for the last thirty years or so, or about how the youth of today may the salvation of tomorrow... Pretty much all that jazz. Most stories about Earth start of like that. But I'm going to go with the other way that is probably much more simple. Nommings. My name is... uh... it's a number and a whole bunch of alien alphabet, but just call me Tank-kun. You know, those big red alien things that go around mulching stuff with big white alien teeth? Yep, that's me. Or at least one of them is. I'm not exactly sure how I'm able to think like this since I was supposedly built to be a mindless drone. My guess is that some human got chewed up improperly and the bits that made up the brain accidentally went into making me instead of the little icky soldier class we normally use brains to make. Hence my higher cognitive abilities. But hey I'm not complaining. I mean, sure there's no one to talk to since all my co-workers had been worker bees in the collective and don’t have a brain cell to share between them, and sure there's wasn't really anything for me to do other than bite stuff, but up until the story began this was pretty much my life. Go to food, eat, sleep, go to more food, eat some more. It's basically a slacker's dream job. East and sleep. And the best part is since there was always stuff to munch, I had job security. Life was pretty sweet. So uh, anyway, I should probably stop waffling around and start the story. See, I was involved in the Battle of Kyoto. All my coworkers where there. About, oh, about fifty thousand of them. We were running all around biting into everything when the jocks, what I call those hardheaded guys who only know how to go in straight lines, broke through the human's defensive lines and cracked open the all you can eat buffet. Sweet. For me, it was basically just another day at the office. Run over here, eat that. Run over there, eat that. Moving 'carbon based computer'? Eat that too. The usual. Then one of the guys said a couple of those metal flying robots crashed into one of the big dudes, y'know the one that are over sixty meters tall, and called the rest of us over before the Soldier class got to them. So like the good little slacker with a deadbeat job, off I went to eat some more. The tin can one had been already pried open, and the 'computer' inside was already gobbled up by the Soldiers. Oxygen fluid everywhere. I mean, I have bad table manners, but these guys? Sheesh. Gross. Ahem! Lucky for us, there was this other lump of canned food that was just sitting there that had been ignored by the Soldiers. It was just there, waiting to be mulched. So, off we went. There I was, typical day at work. Prying open this tin can to get at the stuff inside while the other ate the crunchy outer shell. Business as usual. All of a sudden this other 'computer' comes along and starts talking about stuff in her weird human language (And another thing, can’t you humans speak the same language like us? Life would be so much more simple if you did that.) Yeah.” And she so did not jump when the massive thing bobbed it's head in agreement and rubbed it's arm against her soldier like a giant affectionate cat. -=- Yui stared at the huge Sakura tree, that had been wrapped with aluminum roofing in the approximation of a bouquet, that was being held out towards her by one long red arm. “It just offered you flowers,” Yamashiro whispered from beside Yui. “You're supposed to thank it.” “That Sakura tree was from the Imperial Palace.” Yui pointed out., her face deathly pale. “I recognize it from my trips there as a child. That tree has been there for at least a hundred and fifty years. It's a national treasure. And it just... uprooted it... and offied it to me a gift.” Yzmashio paused, then came to the reasonable conclusion. “We are so dead.” -=- “AIEEEEEEEE! PERVERT! PEEPING TOM!” “Swwwww-roarrrrrrr-wrryyy!” Tank-kun fled as fast as his many legs could carry him as an enraged Yui Takamura chased after him clad only in a bath-towel, the righteous fury of a slighted young woman feuding her every step. Sitting to the side sill in her cast, yamashio watched the unfolding scene with an incredulous eye. “Well, looks like he's learning how to talk now.” Kazuza grumbled. Then she looked down at the Sake-bottle in her hands, one Yui had fished out of one of the abandoned store fronts that Kazuza had been using as an anesthetic, and decided what the hell. “I am waaaaay to sober for this.” Kazuza grumbled as she engaged in a little underage drinking, the sound of Yui's scream when her bathtowel coming loose echoing in the background. -=- “Get away from it Yui! It's a monster!” Iwaya shouted from behind scores of soldiers armed with heavy weapons. “He's not! I'm telling you, he's not! He's different!” Yui shot back defiantly, hugging Tank-kun's leg protectively as the dozens of IJA soldiers took aim... -=- “The BETA are changing,” Yuuko Kouszuki concluded reclining in her chair with a satisfied smile. The computer screens around them displayed many recorded instances of BETA in the region acting strangely, doing anything from a Grappler carrying a school-bus full of children to safety or a Fort attempting to build an oversized surfboard of all things. “Whatever you did to your 'pet' Takamura-san, it's started something among the other BETA.” “But I didn't do anything! He just saved my life one day, and everything went crazy after that!” Yui protested, unable to take her eyes of the television screens. …was that Solider proposing to that woman in the far left monitor? “Not according to my data,” Yuuko smirked, having not noticed the scene of her best friend getting hitched. “From what my tests can glean, all this strange behavior started by an irregular signal that went through the entire BETA hive network. Every single BETA that originated from the Sadogoshima Hive has become 'irregular' because of that, and this signal originated from your BETA!” “What kind of signal?” Yuuko pointed at tank-kun, who was in the corner of the room. He was wearing an oversized chef's hat and apron and was cooking on the kitchen stove Yuuko had acquired for him. “A dish made with luv, hm, hm, hm...” The beast growled as it cheerfully made lasagna. “Yui-chan's fav-oh-rite dish!” “The power of love maybe?” Yuuko shot the young girl a grin.
