Building on the previous interview with Ishihara, there was another one published in one of the end of month magazines that I found. I'm going to classify all of this as spoilers for the latter half of the show, so if you do not wish to be spoiled, please do not read this.

Interview with Supervisor Ishihara

Until she contracted chuunibyou in her second year of middle school, Rikka was your ordinary girl. The reason why she contracted the disease will be a key point in the second half of the show.

I'd like everyone to pay attention to the combination of characters. Something like the bond between Shinka and Dekomori. While I think watching Rikka and Dekomori play together like a notable pair is fun, I think the combination of Shinka and Dekomori after episode four becomes much more entertaining.

And also I'd like everyone to pay attention to Isshiki's actions in the romantic comedy part. He's also not a "single-minded" type of character. (laughs) It's our plan for him to do various things in that part of the story. We planned for the story to feel like it becomes a story with "lots of love." Of course, we never intended for the story to be muddled with love triangles or squares. We wanted to depict a more charming romantic story.

After we finished introducing the main cast in episode 4, episode 5 begins developing the main story of the show. As the story begins to move throughout summer in the series, we promise the audience will enjoy it even though they won't be able to feel the weather. Please check it out.

The person on the left is Isshiki wearing a cap. He doesn't have the long hair he was introduced with, so it looks like he has a haircut IMO.

Regarding the origin of Rikka's chuunibyou

That comment, added to some of the dialog in episode 1, makes me think Rikka was heavily influenced by DFM, be it either when visiting her sister, or through the internet. It is a bit contradictory though that she was already full delusional when she met Dekomori two years ago. The timelines seem a bit unbelievable in that case.

I like where this is going, especially the fact that they will keep it gloomy drama-free. Doing otherwise will be in conflict with the atmosphere the show established. Which, in my opinion, is a trap a lot of shows fall into.

Couple of points. First, I'd like to congratulate ZAQ for her debut single for Chuunibyou's OP entitled Sparkling Daydream selling over 11,000 copies and placing 8th on the Oricon weekly charts.

Secondly, this week's production sketches are a bit different. We've actually seen these points previously, so I'm not spoiler tagging them.

Nanase Tsukumo: Just from hearing how she speaks, you'd think she's just an airhead. As you realize how things progressed, you see she's a worthy tactician.

Tsukumo-sensei's desk: A pleasant aroma drifts in the air creating a pleasant atmosphere around her desk.
