Archer is definitely GAR. Maybe he's a controlled hot-blooded variant and not the normal loose cannons variant that you see. When he goes thru his use of UBW in his fight with Beserker, that to me was also hot-bloodedness.

The main difference between hotbloodedness and GAR is that hotblood is a real term that exists in the Japanese dictionary and GAR is a western word created on the internets, or 4chan to be specific.

GAR never existed until Archer used UBW. Hotblood, nekketsu in Japanese, existed in Japanese vocabulary for a long time.

One is a meme, the other is a proper word, with a proper meaning. GAR and hotbloodedness itself also have fundamentally different meanings, they're not even pointing to the same things.

The meaning of GAR has also been distorted many times in just a few years and the only thing that can describe it quite similarly is 'badassery/ badassness'. It can also be used to describe an action.

Hotbloodedness doesn't describe the character's action, it is the character's spirit and personality.

The problem is because a hotblooded character is usually badass or awesome, it gets described by people as GAR.

Yea, but people already abandoned that definition for GAR and even more people didn't know about the original definition, one of the reasons the meaning distorted.

GAR originally was a meme for a typo. The guy was so in awe with Archer's UBW, he wanted to say 'I am gay for Archer', but he typed 'I am gar for Archer'. But not everyone knew this and just used the meme because GAR sounded awesome and since then it never was its original meaning anymore.

Hotblood is not really anger, hotblood has nothing to do with angst as well.

Hotblood is an intense passion, a powerful enthusiasm, zeal, fervor or spirit for something. Usually in heroes, its the passion for righteousness, justice, beliefs and such. A villian can be hotblooded as well, for their beliefs, and most of the times in 'knightly' or martial artistic enemies who fight in duels. They have this passion to fight and win an opponent, that is hotbloodedness as well.

I wish Mazinger Z could do that move. Though Mazinkaiser has the Kaiser Knuckle which he pounds an enemey with his powerful turbine fists. Domon though of G-Gundam can do Hakuretsuken, but he doesn't hit the vital areas needed to blow the enemy up.

Anyways rarely do I see speed in hand to hand combat on Mazinger Machines and UFO Grendicer, their like one hit killers since one Rocket Punch can end multiple robots, UNLIKE some other more than 100 stories high robots I know.

Stop, before my urge to murder you hits the limit.
A Meme is defined by usage, not the otherway around.
In other words, it is defined by how pop culture uses them, it does not MATTER what it's originated from.
Even regular vocabulary changes over the course of time, by its usages in popular culutre, and a meme is even more suspectable to change due to its urban nature.
It's the same as tsundere and moe, it's absolutely silly to be stubborn about it, and it's downright criminal to rant about it in a long discussion.

Yeah that scene was handled so damn well. Showing it as a flashback was one thing, though adding the narrator just goes to show how epic this show is. Gotta love the repeated scene and line leading upto the Rocket Punch.

Another thanks from me to Gattai adding the Bandai Channel scenes. After seeing them for myself, it's all the more confusing as to why they'd only show these scenes like that. Some of them are quite important.

An anon cookie told me I don't understand what hotbloodedness is, I guess hotbloodedness must have lost all its meaning.

There was once this song called Let's Go Passion, and Jupitorians worshipped a mecha anime called Gekiganger 3. Hotbloodedness was their greatest virtue, passion and zeal was their pushing force.

Whoever gave me the cookie, please do watch Nadesico for the easiest way to understand what hotblooded means. Also it would be polite to leave a name after the cookies.
