"Famous" People who like anime...
what a surprise! there confirmed
if you anymore postem " Zac Efron really wants to appeal to the anime-loving crowd. First, he wanted to play as Light Yagami from Death Note, but I believe a petition against him being cast has prevented that. Now he has been cast as Sousuke Sagara from 'Full Metal Panic!', another well-known anime. There are mixed feelings on whether Efron will play the role well or not, but at least there's more positive feedback going around on this than there was for Light." lol its freaken Kira!! so far I can find this
ZacEfferon's Proof: http://expoexpo.wordpress.com/2009/0...fically-death- note/ (The rest can be confirmed on either AnimeWiki or some other website) "Although it's nerdy, I have a HUGE collection of Anime. I know a lot of kids are getting into it these days, but you haven't heard of most of the things I have. In my living room you'll see The Wings of Honneamise, Record of Lodoss War, Grave of the Fireflies, and some random imported Hokuto No Ken DVDs to show my kids." - Steve Carell, "Get Smart" interview 2008 "I started drawing when I was about 2, mostly pictures of my mother and my sister. When I got into school, instead of taking the notes that I should have been taking, I was drawing in all of my notebooks. It was an artwork thing for me at first. But when I was 12, Adult Swim on Cartoon Network started, and they had a lot of anime cartoons on, like Cowboy Bebop and InuYasha, and that’s when I first started seeing it in cartoon form and actually started researching it. I’d also been a fan of graphic novels, so it’s that kind of art as well as Japanime art that I’m in love with." http://www.cosmogirl.com/entertainme...megan-fox-qa-2 -Megan Fox "I play golf once in awhile. I certainly love to train. I'm also a big fan of NASCAR and Japanimation. I know the two don't go together, but I'm just telling you what I enjoy. My favorite anime movie is Fist of the North Star. " -John Cena http://www.mensfitness.com/sports_an...n/athletes/132 Theres more I need to find it its all over the interwebs, But its a pretty legit list |

By 4chan, so...
There's obviously some grain of truth in here. For example, Kanye obviously likes Akira, given his music video for Stronger. Lupin the 3rd is referenced by Lupe Fiasco in Touch the Sky (which was a Kanye song, so...). But Love Hina? Unless someone proves otherwise, I'm just going to go ahead and say that that's made up. Although it is surprising how many of these are true. edit: That Steve Carell quote... If you google various substrings of more than a few words, the main results that come up are this thread right here, http://messageboard.tokyopop.com/for...d.php?p=466164 <- a lot of copypasting going on here and 4chanarchive. So the quote is 110% phony. On the other hand, the Megan Fox and John Cena ones seem legit . Easily confirmable via google: Kanye: Akira, Lupin the 3rd Hulk Hogan: Pokemon Christian Bale: Metal Gear Andrew W.K.: Gundam 99% chance phony or 1% chance from some obscure japanese source (the only sources google finds are this chart or people being astounded by this chart): Kanye: Love Hina, Golden Boy, Bleach Andrew W.K: TTGL, Lucky Star, One Piece, Bleach Hulk Hogan: One Piece Ok, that's it. The rest I was too lazy to try and find.

So I heard that Hulk Hogan likes mudkips...
In slightly more serious news, there's a good interview with him over Pokemon here. I have to admit that the idea of the Hulkster tearing up over the more touching scenes in K-On!! is oddly hilarious, lol.

Surprising list (if it is indeed true).
Cool to see a lot of fellow Lupin the III fans. Also, nice to see someone on the list likes Digimon. The most surpising on the list for me (aside from zac efron) is Pattinson. Who knew he had such good taste in anime. Mushishi and Kino's Journey; good stuff.

I find it true that Robin Williams likes Lupin III, it would be more interesting if he can actually portray Lupin III himself if ever there would be a Hollywood movie of it.
After the Transformers 3 movie, there is a funny rumor that Gundam would be Paramount Picture's next project for 2013. Leonardo DiCarpio seems fitting to be a Char Aznable, so who would take the role of Amuro Ray. |
